  1. After watching Jacobs play numerous times, against Brooks, Coleman, and the performance he put on at Ballard, I think most would agree that Jacobs can play at any level, he would actually be an asset to Louisville and play quicker than you might think. I have never watched anyone more exciting and hit the glass with the tenacity that Jacobs does. I think cch when assessing physical or mental readiness shows he has no knowledge of Jacobs and should be suspended from this website, because of other motives . Jacobs', coach said that Jacobs is 6' 7" 230 lbs and has a 3.7 gpa, and is the most physical player he has ever coached. I wish cch's players nothing but the best and hopes they reach high goals.
  2. Amazing how it doesn't matter how good the kids are in Ky, the talent is outstanding here, and we have several players in the state that are as good or better than Patterson, UofK is not recruiting the best talent in the state, everyone is hung up on national rankings.
  3. I hope you realize how well our kids perform, you need to trust that we do have some big time players.
  4. After watching Patterson, I can say that Pettigrew, and Jacobs are better basketball players, just tougher kids.
  5. A recruiter told the Mississippi coach that Beckham, Knowles, Jacobs, Mackey, Pettigrew, Proffit, Mack, and Hopson, could beat any Macdonalds all American team. I don't know how true that is, but we should be proud that these are the kids in the state of Kentucky, plus the many other great players in the state. Hopefully, most of these kids get to stay in Kentucky and play.
  6. Pettigrew is a solid player and a great kid, but Jacobs is bigger, stronger, and faster, and has great potential at the next level. Jacobs is surrounded by a very young team. Coach Szabo said that Jacobs is totally a team player and leads by example. He tries to win for team not for stats. I think the Mr, Basketball award is also about leadership, teamwork, and potential. I have watched Jacobs play seven times and pettigrew six times, they are different types of players, Pettigrew is allowed to freelance, Jacobs plays in a controlled team atmosphere. I think rojas4 is like most fans, they want to see someone score every time down the floor, but we still need blue collar players. I hope some of these kids are also recognized.
  7. legitimate stats is very important here, Tanner Jacobs is a rebounding machine that plays in the seventh region. I have watched him several times and can't imagine anyone having better stats in rebounding than him. I think Stephon Pettigrew is also a solid rebounder and I have watched him play several times, but I didn't notice him being as good as rebounder, he was alway outside shooting the ball. I know Pettigrew scores a lot and plays almost the entire game. Jacobs blocks out better and plays tough defense. Pettigrew scores more points. Jacobs is bigger and faster. I do think that Pettigrew deserves Mr. Basketball, but the Jacobs kid has a lot of potential at the next level.
  8. Trinity seems to have a problem with ballhandling, plus lazy passing at times. They really struggle to get Jacobs the ball, they play really hard and Jacobs dominates the boards, plus they play decent defense, which is winning them games.
  9. jacobs was double teamed so they could not get the ball in to him thats why trinity had trouble scoring
  10. The best two players in Louisville are Doug Beaumont of Male and Tanner Jacobs of Trinity, I think they both play football also. They can play Basketball at any level. I have watched both kids play three times and most people agree. I know we have some good young kids playing, but these two kids are seniors and have started for three years.
  11. Male has a very good team with great athletes, I have watched both teams play and agree that both teams are solid and Trinity plays with a lot of heart.I think it will be a fun game to watch because of Jacobs and Beaumont. These two kids are special, they remind me of players from the past years. Trinity has a young team except for Jacobs, Male has a very seasoned team. I would give the edge to Male. Jacobs will have to defeat the double team to keep it close.
  12. My top five are Doug Beaumont, Tanner Jacobs, Stephon Pettigrew, Jon Vanhoose, Preston Knowles.
  13. The kid that shut Brooks down was 6'7" Tanner Jacobs, a blue collar player from Trinity in Louisville. Jacobs is very physical and Brooks lost the ball at least five times to a quicker Jacobs. I never saw a 6'2" kid defending Brooks. The Doss staff did a good job.
  14. I hope Tubby, and Rick, both look at these kids, I watched another kid play at the 5/3 classic named Tanner Jacobs from Trinity, He is really turning some heads. He plays with tremendous intensity, and run the floor like a point guard. He is about 6ft8 235lbs. I have never seen a kid rebound like he does.
  15. Tanner Jacobs had another double double 17pts and 14 rebounds, he also had six steals. what type of stats did Brooks put up?
