January 1, 200719 yr My Niners paved the way for the Bengals. All they had to do was take care of business!
January 1, 200719 yr Author I agree and glad that the 49ers did. No excuses, they know they didn't take care of business. It is on them. 100% on them. Not Kimo's fault. 100% on them. We'll find out if they are going to grow up soon enough. Happy New Year! I know that's the present you wanted most...
January 1, 200719 yr We'll find out if they are going to grow up soon enough. Happy New Year! I know that's the present you wanted most... Actually, you are correct. I would have bittersweetly rooted for them in the playoffs but it would have reinforced all the bad habits they have. Dexter Jackson was interviewed after the game and he said that the players are going to have to decide if they REALLY mean it or just going to talk the talk about being dedicated and then when other things come up they forget the talk.
January 1, 200719 yr I don't think I have ever saw a kick start so straight and then take a hard left turn (from the back of the field goal standard) as that kick did. I have seen my drives on the golf course act like that but not a FG.

I have seen my drives on the golf course act like that but not a FG. It could have been the football karma gods blowing the ball off course because the Bengals did not deserve a playoff spot. Kind of like when the baseball karma gods rolled the tarp over Vince Coleman's leg when he was stealing all those bases. Same as the Immaculate Reception or when North Carolina State shot an airball to win the NCAA championship. Karma gods.
January 1, 200719 yr :thumb: The Bengals do not deserve to be in the playoffs this season. They beat themselves all season. A team can't excpect to be there playing like they have been playing and hoping someone else will win and do it for you. If there is any consolation (and there is not) - the Stealers will be sitting at home as well. When does the Reds spring training start?? OK what did we Steal this year????
January 1, 200719 yr Sice we already knew the steeler's weren't going to the playoffs, I'll take this as a nice belated Christmas Present.
January 1, 200719 yr Author Sice we already knew the steeler's weren't going to the playoffs, I'll take this as a nice belated Christmas Present. Fair enough. We both under performed. Lots of soul searching to be done on both sides...
January 1, 200719 yr Hey lion. Who's your pick for Bengals arrest of the night??? The list will be long and distinguished I'm afraid.
January 1, 200719 yr Does anybody know if Chad Johnson played yesterday???? just wondering. He can take his 4 game stretch where he finally decided to play like a multi million dollar go to guy...but outside of that... he is an avg WR. TJ gets my nod for best WR. Missed kick is inexcusable. They need to bring in a kicker to compete with GRaham just for the simple fact that he cost them a playoff spot in theory.
January 1, 200719 yr Rushing Steelers 207 yds, Bengals 44. Ouch. Steelers ran 20 more plays. Ouch. Miracle this game even got to OT. Chad and TJ 53 and 44 yds respectfully. Rudi 44 yds. Palmer 20-38 for 251yds 2TDs . Henry 4 catches 124 1 TD. Mind boggling.
January 1, 200719 yr Willie tried to give it to you, donating on the one foot line. A 14 pt. swing. Well, the only thing that really makes me feel better BGPwise this morning is that the last thing on the mind of Cincy fans this season is Ben throwing a TD in OT to beat you. After all of the jokes (and GT has the nerve to say the convict jokes were old and lame) and the avatars, he stuck one right in your ear. I rooted for SF in the late game just so it would be even more rotten. I will say this however, It's obvious that we cannot defend Chris Henry. If he played 16 against the Steelers, he'd set every receiving record in the league.

If he played 16 against the Steelers, he'd set every receiving record in the league. It is more about how you are defending TJ and Chad rather than just defending Henry. Listening to Lampham on the radio, there was double coverage on Chad. Double coverage on TJ which left Henry on one-on-one defender. Not sure like some others who are eager to appoint Henry as heir apparent to top receiver status that he is deserving more than he gets what he gets because teams are concentrating on taking away Chad, then Rudi, then TJ and he becomes the 4th weapon. If he had defense focused on him as Chad does, not sure we would see the same results from Henry.
January 1, 200719 yr Oh, nothing like beating the girls on New years eve. As I stated before in the prediction thread, after all of the jawing that we did back and forth, that is exactly what we deserved, both out of the playoffs in the middle of the draft, looking back on our chokes of a season. I will whine a bit (only for the benefit of IAm) and gripe about the roughing the passer call on Farrior. No flippin' way that is a penalty, he didn't lead with the helmet, he didn't go low, and he made contact prior to release. Horrible! So what now, you're not allowed to finish a tackle on a QB? The penalty on Harrison for slamming CJ was bull as well. Nonetheless, I can say that the Bengals suck one last time this year. Not to say that the Steelers don't equally suck, but it is a bit of satisfaction to be the last to have oneupmanship. Whodey goin' to the house early this season? Well, we both are!! I appreciate that!!!!
