I did, how many schools in Kentucky have football teams?

The most puzzling part to me is why other states haven't latched on to this more-the-merrier idea. Ohio has 716 schools playing football -- more than triple the number in Kentucky -- but the Buckeye State has only six divisions. Georgia has 359 teams but gets by with five classes. So does Indiana, which has 315 teams. Florida divvies up 466 football schools into six classes (although it does further split the schools in its smallest class into two championship playoffs).

I would like to see someones post from Rose Hill that even compared their Schedule to everyone else's for remaining of year....I believe they compared the WHOLE SEASON schedule on all the forums I read. With that said, Rose Hill has a much tougher schedule.

 

PLUS, what does it even matter, all of the 16th Region teams are playing a quality schedule this year.

Exactly, no one from Rose Hill said anything about the remainder of the schedule, but the schedule to date. You may go back and refer if you like. and frankly, the only thing that is obvious is that the title of the thread was misleading in the fact that it is intended to bash RH. No more, No less. Why not title the tread differently if that is the intent? By the way, the only thing that I'm certain of is that Boyd County spanked Rowan County last night, Ashland nearly had a huge upset of Madison Central and Russell's coach sticks to his guns!

Lets see Rose Hill plays Fairview, Ashland, Boyd, Lawrence (twice), Lewis, Fleming, Cincinnati Oak Hills, Lexington Christian, and West Carter. Not too mention the all A classic which will put them against Bath, possibly Raceland and Elliot or Fairview again. Now tell me who in the 16th region plays a tougher remaining schedule.

FWIW, there is now way that they go undefeated the rest of the year.

Also, for the record, they aren't Wireman's Vikings. I just happen to live in Morehead for now and I support the local teams. I haven't even been to a Rowan game this season. I do happen to go to church with a couple of the players, as well. Other than that, I could care less who wins.

I don’t recall any awards for the team with the toughest schedule. The only polls and opinions that matter are where teams finish in March. It’s up to each head coach construct a schedule that will challenge and at times encourage their teams to mature and peak at the right times.

 

In this regard, Tim Fraley at the Hill has done an excellent job. In their first nine games the Royals tipped it up against 4 of the top 20 teams in Kentucky and actually won one. They beat one of the top 10 teams in D.C. Beat the #2 team in the 12th Region, the #4 team in the 13th Region and the #1 team in the 16th Region over the past six seasons.

 

So far so good. :thumb:

Actually, Wireman, you read your own interpretation into Rickyp's post. He asked a question. He did not make a statement. He asked others to name someone with a tougher remaining schedule. Several of you did so. No one claimed, or will claim, that Rose Hill's remaining schedule is the toughest in the region. You just sought to "spin" his words.

I know for a fact that every coach and player at Rose Hill looks forward to tipping it up against Rowan or Elliott or Russell or any other 16th Region team at Ellis Johnson Arena this March.

 

Of course, that all depends upon getting out of the 64th District which depends upon achieving goals during the rest of the season.

 

I like Fraley's schedule. That's what it's designed to do. We'll see if it works.

Im not sure who has the toughest remaining schedule and I really dont care. I do like the fact that the 16th region seems to be playing a lot of quality teams this year. A lot of those games the teams from the 16th are hanging in with the bigger teams also. Even the games you lose badly (Mason/Ashland , Boyd/Scott) you only get better through playing more competitive teams.

OK wireman. Let's review what you said about Rose Hill's remaining schedule. You stated that you wouldn't considered certain teams as a tough schedule and one of those teams you mentioned was Fairview. Yet in you initial post in this thread you use Fairview on the road as an example of the tough schedule that Rowan has left. I will stand by my stance that Rose Hill's remaining schedule is very similar to the rest of the region.

 

FWIW, Rose Hill plays Fairview on the road also. Plus I will state again that Rose Hill will play anyone who is willing to sign on the dotted line, including the Vikings. Plus you have completely discounted Oak Hills and Lex. Christian.

Has anybody seen who Russell and Ashland have remaining on their schedules?

 

-And- has anyone compared Russell and Ashlands schedules thus far to the likes of Wiremans Vikings?

 

Lastly, has anyone played more road games thus far then Ashland (the most) and Russell might not be far behind (as far as away games go). Rose Hill might be right there with Russell in road games.

 

Someone should start a Strength of Schedule thread for the 16th and update it each week following the release of the "Great" Cubsters Ratings.

 

I know that due to the renovations at Blazer Ashland play all of their early games on the road. Rose Hill likewise played their first 7 away from home.

For those who don't know this whole discussion began when Wireman made the proposterous statement that Rose Hill could go undeated for the rest of the season due to their remaining schedule. Anyone with the slightest hint of objectivity should be able to realize that Rose Hill's remaining schedule is very representitive of the 16th region and better than most if they advance in the All A classic.
