How much longer will Saban coach?

Nick Saban just turned 70 in October. Even though he seems to have plenty of energy for coaching, the end has to be near.

So how much longer will St. Nick coach?

Will he have a farewell season like Coach K or announce it after the season?

For some context Bowden coached until he was 80 and would have coached longer if he wasn't fired. Bear Bryant coached until he was 69.

I think between his Mercedes dealerships and endorsements, that money isn't an issue.

My guess he will come in one day and announce he is retiring.  At some point, I see him wanting to live a few years as the soft grandpa...I think he is leaning that way now.  

He seems to have softened a little the last year or so (which he can afford to because of the culture that he has created around the Bama program).

I have a feeling if they were to win a title this year or next, he may shut it down and go to the house.

I said by the time he's 75, but it doesn't really have anything to do with his age.

I am not saying he actually has this belief, but I have found it interesting to hear interviews with legendary coaches about how they felt like if they don't keep coming back they are going to die. Essentially, this is all they are living for.

Not sure when he retires but I don't think we will see a farewell tour ala Coach K.  That doesn't seem like Saban's style.

I agree. I think it is more of a basketball thing, anyways. I don't see Saban receiving a standing ovation and rocking chair from the Auburn faithful at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

As Jimmy Johnson has mentioned a time or two - QTL.  Quality Time Left. 

Saban seems to someone who is aware of this.

So going with before he is 75.
