What a great game to watch.

Couple of thoughts about Male:

They have to schedule better. It was unfortunate their game with John Curtis was canceled, but they just are not tested with the exception of X and T. The issue with that is you're going to have to play one if not both in the playoffs. Male had dudes all over the place, but how many times did those dudes truly have to play an entire game? 

Male's offense is pretty vanilla. Think of all those skill guys and how experience their OL was. It is either inside zone with Swinney or RPO go deep to Anthony. There is absolutely no reason Anthony should only have two catches in a state championship game, even if those catches were both TDs; he's too dynamic not to have more touches. I'm sure there will be some adjustments for the Male program this offseason.

Just some thoughts.

I agree. I thought they should have used more Vinny than Swinney. I think they did because Swinney was so dominant against weak defenses they played. To me, you beat St. X through the air. I do think the St. X secondary played well because there were plenty of times Schutte had all day and end up scrambling.

I agree, Male should be scheduling tougher games. The problem is that when you do that you might not win ten games, and no one is talking about how great you are.

 

I think Male should drop Floyd Central (IN) who they blow out and pick up better team. If they do that plus schedule someone tough in the John Curtis slot and continue playing Manual, St. X, and Trinity then that would be good schedule for them.

Congrats X and Coach Wallace.  Very tough schedule and they are the best!  Savori has to win Mr. Football.

 

One of best catches I've seen. Going to miss this kid. At least get to watch him play basketball now.

If that's not first thing on the agenda, then it's definitely the second. 

 

Don't know if it was on the official stat report, but I'm curious on the average starting position for each team? Just reaching the game, X seems to have had a clear advantage in that category.

Just watched it again. So fun and excited to watch the team victory. A big factor not mentioned was how much better X was on all special teams! Big difference, they matter!

Sure. He's had wins against Trinity, but can't do it against them, and now X, when the title is on the line. And now, it looks like it'll remain that way for the foreseeable future.
