Flyers look to capitalize on home field in the Capital City

Series History: Franklin County leads 3-2 all-time

Table Setter: The football field on Louisville's West Muhammad Ali Boulevard has a reputation for sending opponents home bruised and battered, but the Yellowjackets have been the ones looking worse for wear after the last two visits from Franklin County. Last year's playoffs and this year's regular season have yielded the Flyers two wins over Central by a combined score of 77-12. It makes you wonder if Franklin County would prefer this playoff game take place in the heart of Louisville rather than Frankfort. The intimidation factor is clearly not an issue for them.

The most recent encounter was a showcase of Kaden Moorman's versatile skill set. He ran for 150 yards and two scores, caught a third, and threw for a fourth. Freshman sensation Cortez Stone was the lone bright spot for Central that night against an otherwise suffocating Flyers defense. That unit has only allowed 34 points total during a current six game win streak. Upholding its reputation, Central is also no slouch defensively. They've held eight of eleven opponents to two scores or less, but they likely can't afford another season worst performance like the one they had against Franklin County a few weeks ago.

I see no reason to think FC won't take it to Central this time in the playoffs.  I know unlike Boyle/LexCath where the regular season winner always wins the playoff games, these two teams have flipped the script a couple of times on the other from the reg. season to the playoffs.  But I just don't see it happening this time.  Franklin by 3 or 4 scores again.

Flyers better take this game serious, Central ran up 73 vs Shelby County. I would guess they will be fired up for the Flyers. I will take my boys though in a slug fest.

Yellow Jackets had the ball deep in FC territory twice early in the 1st quarter after a blocked punt and FC turnover, but didn’t get any points from either. 

Both defenses performing well, but County’s offense has without a doubt looked better than Central’s. I’d imagine FC finds a way to get a coupe scores in the second half.
