The Warriors and Indians meet on the sacred ground of the 'Reservation'

Records: Southwestern (8-1), Madison Central (7-2)

BGP Ranking: Southwestern (#6 in 5A), Madison Central (#9 in 6A)

Series History: Southwestern leads 5-1 all-time

Table Setter: Southwestern and Madison Central have more in common than the traditional native spears that adorn their helmets. Both teams thrive on owning the line of scrimmage with physicality and a power run game.

The Warriors are riding a wave of momentum after crushing heated rival Pulaski County, 42-14. Giddeon Brainard  was the star of the night, scoring four touchdowns - two rushing, one kick return, and one scoop and score - in rapid succession. If you made a run to the restroom or refrigerator, you might have missed it. No one has had an answer for Southwestern's ground attack this season, which ranks atop 5A. This is a team that looks prepared to pull an upset late in November.

Deep postseason penetration for Madison Central means navigating the choppy waters of its district, one that includes the Bryan Station squad that just ended MC's six game win streak. The Indians' two setbacks this season meet the definition of "quality loss", with the other coming to 2A's top ranked team, LCA. Both losses came by one score each. Sophomore running back Brady Hensley is quietly having a breakout season. His next carry could net him a thousand yards rushing and he ranks among the 6A leaders with 20 touchdowns. The defense has been a strength each week, ranking in the top 5 of its class in points allowed.

With the way these two like to run the ball, this game might compete with JC/Belfry to be the first one completed on Friday.

Southwestern waaaay  better than Madison Central. SW ground game gonna chew up the Indians front line. And the Warriors are much hungrier on defense than I think some realize. Looking at the tape of the Indians vs Bryan Station, I just about expect a RC!

Not saying Mad. Central is weak or mediocre, but SW is just BETTER in all factors. 49-14

Madison Central's best defensive lineman will be back this week vs Southwestern.  Was out due to targeting call a few weeks ago.  His absence made a big difference vs Bryan Station.  That game came down to a two pt. conversion.   Lack of pass rush killed them vs Bryan Station.   I'd say Southwestern by 2.  Madison Central's defense is stout.  Should be a good one.
