Coach Mike Halcomb is a great coach. When he took the Madison Central job I talked to him when he was playing golf one day and asked him was it a big adjustment going from a school of 700 students to one with over 2000 and not a mountain school. He said it had been great and that he had a great group of young men on the team that had done everything he had asked of them.
 

There’s a reason he has won three state championships while at Breathitt County. Madison Central made a good move when they hired Mike.

Probably the most improved team in the state by a wide margin. Should wind up being COY. MC could become best non Louisville 6A program as long as he’s there.

MC played a great game.  I was very impressed with their DLine.  OC was out coached and out played.  Good job MC

I'll be the first to admit, I was wrong about this Madison Central team.  I was thinking this team was closer to the team that only beat Dunbar by 10 vs. the team that beat Pikeville by 2 and lost to LCA by only 9.  Appears to be a very solid team that has a good chance to at least get to the 3rd round of the playoffs this year.  They appear to be playing the best of the 4 teams in their district currently.  Definitely worth of a top 10 6A ranking.

Holcomb has obviously been a very good hire but William Blair is the DC and has done a great job where ever he has been.  He is a really good coach.

Yes. He’s a beast. Watching this game, it seemed like MC defense was ready for almost everything Oldham tried to do.  Looked like M Central tried to keep their QB in the pocket. It is amazing how much coaching means at the high school level.

Looking at the numbers from this one, the Indians ran for 400 yards with three ball carriers going for 100+. No passing yards. Every time I checked in on the game, they were winning the line of scrimmage.

The first score of the game had to be one of the best runs of the night, anywhere. Hagan Harrison broke about six tackles for a touchdown run from midfield.

I didn't say he's running the show but he's doing a great job.  He is a Rockcastle guy and I've always thought when Rock gets tired of it's current state of mediocrity and not getting past the second round of the playoffs that he would become the top man at Rockcastle.
