#6 Ryle(4-1) will host #2 St. Xavier (4-1) after being on open week. St. X comes in after defeating #4 Trinity 35-28.

St. X was led by QB Jack Sivori's 153 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns against Trinity. RB Justin Walsh scored his 1st touchdown of the season and had 117 yards rushing. On defense, St. X was led by LB Luke Saner with 9 tackles with 1 for a loss and 1 sack. DE Teddy Meiers and LB Jaxon Panariello returned from injury. CB Kanon Williams dressed and possible he will play against Ryle. It was also reported that Micah Carter could return before the playoffs.

St. X the last two games against Trinity and Elder have played best in the 1st and 4th quarter with the 3rd quarter not good in both games. They need to improve coming out of halftime.

Ryle is led on offense by QB Logan Verax who is a threat passing and running. He is 75-125, 818 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions while also running for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ryle has 5 rushers over 100 yards with the leading rusher Nathan Yowan with 205 yards with 2 touchdowns. Lukas Colemire has also contributed with 3 touchdowns. Ryle also has 5 receivers with over 100 yards. The leading receiver Kaden Gardner has 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jayce Harden has also contributed 3 touchdowns. On defense, Ryle has been led by LB Gabe Savage who leads with 54 tackles with 3 for a loss and a 1/2 sack. 2nd leading tackler is LB Jackson Belk with 49 with 4 for a loss and 2 sacks. The defense has played well just giving up 11.6 points per game.

This game is a big RPI game with St. X #2 and Ryle #3. This is a potential trap game for St. X coming off a win over rival Trinity. Ryle has had two weeks to prepare with having an open week. This is also homecoming for Ryle and should be a good crowd. Does St. X's dominant rushing attack continue against Ryle? Can Ryle get the win against one of the Louisville 6A powers?

I'll go with St. X, but it will be interesting to see how they play. If they play a complete game they'll win convincingly. Sivori is having a great season rushing the ball but I wouldn't be surprised to see the offense more balanced against Ryle, especially if Walsh can continue providing quality rushing attempts. The defense is intriguing to me; they seem to step up when needed but struggle with the lead. Not sure if thats scheme/play calling problem or a mentality problem. But at the end of the day St. X will be too much for Ryle...

Ryle has a big OL, it will be interesting to see how the decide to attack the St. X defense. I think Ryle could keep it close if they're able to be effective in the passing game.

Ryle is also pretty stout against the run, which is X's strength. The passing games for both teams could have a lot to say in the outcome. I can't speak for Ryle, but Sivori has guys he can get the ball to that can make plays after the catch.

Give me the Tigers by four scores. I think Ryle gives a spirited effort on homecoming night, but big school football in Louisville is still a few notches above NKY.

Raiders will need to force some TO’s and have a good night throwing the ball around the yard to hang around. If the final score is lopsided, it will be a  fun ride back to the Ville for the visitors. Ryle will play hard. Sivori is tough to handle.  St X is far superior to anyone the Raiders have seen this season. Lookin’ forward to FNL in Union!

A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile... however such a tough road to work for anyone in 6A v. the big 3 from Louisville. I think this is a tough and talented Ryle team who will go out and fight for 4 quarters just don't think it's in the cards to win. A good measuring stick for where you are as a team if they keep it to 14 or less that would speak well for the team (not that anyone likes moral victories) moving forward into district play. Hopefully it doesn't go to far south.

FYI game was moved back to 7:30.

Staying within 14 would be a moral victory.

Does anyone think Ryle has a chance in this one?

I think they have the athletes to make it interesting, I am not sure if they can pull off a victory though. I definitely think it will be closer than the consensus here though. It will be a 10-14 point game.
