0-8 on Third Down for Boyle. Must improve on that going forward but the game went much like I figured it would. A little good, a lot ugly but still a w.

I predicted 35-12 and got pretty close.  I also said Boyle needed to find it's offensive identity outside of Cole Lanter (and obviously Jagger Gillis).  Boyle is not a great team, but can be.  But they have a lot of work to do and some players will have to step up their game.  Will McDaniel was an absolute horse last year.  He will be missed.  Boyle missed out on their only scrimmage and I do believe it showed tonight just like @Rebel said.  But it just means more work to do.  They were working this summer like they've never won anything  and I loved it and I think that will show throughout the season.  But 4A looks like a monster and they had better figure things out pretty soon.  I love this coaching staff and I think they will get it done but it's time to go to work.

Me too, especially the Will McDaniel part. He was criminally underrated and underappreciated outside of Boyle County.

Boyle don't have a RB that can take one to the house like Will McDaniel did last year. Luke Shepperson was Gillis security blanket last year and he can't be replaced either. Boyle will go far as Cole and Jagger take them. Also, where is Cash Logan? He can definitely be a difference maker out there.

Was really surprised at the amount of people that were rotated in and out at RB.  I personally think Bodner was the best RB of the day, and Stone is more of a FB.  Don't think Dawson was utilized enough.  He was a play maker at Danville, but can't be at Boyle if he isn't on the field.  The O-line needs to improve greatly to give Jagger a little more time to find someone and allow the run game to work. Just my take away of the game.

Please remember, again this was the first game and without a preseason scrimmage. Don't think that you saw Boyle's total offensive package either. Remember they have a tough team coming in next week in LCA that you wouldn't want to show everything. You also need to give some credit to Tates Creek. They were big, had  some good football players and were motivated as well.  This game will serve as a good learning experience for practice this week. We came out basically injury free so all in all not a bad start for a tough season ahead.

I think Boyle will be a solid team, but not what we're used to seeing.  I don't think they reach the state championship this year in 4A & a chance they don't get past Lex Cath. in district.  Time will tell.
