2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics

We've had discussion threads for most of the games in years past, so I figured I would start one for the Tokyo games since early competition begins today for softball, and soccer gets rolling tomorrow.

Opening ceremonies will be airing at 6:55am Eastern on Friday. (Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of us in the Eastern time zone, and 14 hours ahead of those in the Central time zone.)

Still feels weird writing "2020 Olympics" in late-July of 2021....stupid COVID.

The full schedule link shows you a list of sports, and then the days each sport is occuring during the Olympics. If you click on that event for any given day it gives you the option to look at the full schedule for that sport, including broadcast times.

USA Women's Soccer lost 3-0 to Sweden in their opening game of group play. CBS Sports had listed Sweden as second-most likely to beat the favorites USWNT in the Olympics, behind Netherlands...but apparently USA team looked utterly lost tonight on the pitch. The USWNT hadn't been beaten in their previous 44 matches, and had won 40 of the 44. Last loss was in January 2019. They're currently the last of the four teams in Group G.

Sweden +3

Australia +1

New Zealand -1

USA -3

Nbcolympics is the site I always use for  all things Olympics. They show an American flag in the results if USA is involved in the event. Most live Events start Around 7pm EDT which is  8am in Tokyo.

It seems as though the women's soccer team has lost its on field focus.   Just my opinion.
