Two of the top 11 in McCracken and Tilghman battling right now in the 9th inning. Both these teams are legit and have about anything you could want.

Tilghman should be in top ten, says this McCracken fan!

Cov Cath hasn't lost yet isn't in the top 10?

As successful as NKY teams have been in the state tourney over the past 10 years, the entire area seems to be under rated.

Thought BlueKernels post below was interesting. Cov Cath started the season unranked by PBR. Entered the rankings at No. 20 three weeks ago, and have been climbing ever since.

Know it's highly variable in baseball, but I'm still a fan of H2H results and strength of schedule in rankings. Nice wins over Elder and Silver Creek (lost a chance to play Trinity at the Doc Morris Inv.), but the Colonels haven't played a team in the PBR KY Top 25 yet. Their SOS per MaxPreps is fairly low.

Maybe we revisit this in a few weeks: CCH plays Beechwood tonight, and LCA on the 18th. A two game series with Highlands on the 10th and 21st should be interesting. I think they're better than their record indicates, as they've played a tough schedule without a couple of pitchers (?). Fingers crossed.

Prep baseball report caters heavily all areas of KY except NKY, so not surprised by it taking a little longer to pick up on NKY teams. It goes back to their business being focused on running showcases and tournaments in the summer which typically don’t draw much from NKY, as teams in NKY typically gravitate towards summer tournaments across the river or elsewhere.

PBR Kentucky was on-hand today for Cov Cath's win over Highlands. The Colonels had the #1 RPI in Kentucky as of last Thursday, but has now been edged out by Trinity for the #1 spot. I guess we'll see if PBR was swayed at all by their attendance for a game when the new rankings come out.

I believe PBR was at the CovCath - Beechwood game last week as well.

I can confirm PBR was in attendance at Beechwood.

I'm a fan of MaxPreps/CalPreps rankings for basketball and football. Their "Strength Of Schedule" and inclusion of out of state opponents at full value are useful components. They're not tied directly into the KHSAA though.

Of course Baseball rankings, as for other sports, relies on timely and accurate reporting of scores. Fans can report scores for MaxPreps, but control of a team's listed schedule lies with whoever is the account admin - AD, coach, statistician, etc.

Fully updated MaxPreps rankings are available on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Comparing its W-L records to the latest RPI, MaxPreps is accurate to about 40% for teams in the top 25. One can find a team missing anywhere from one to twenty scores, and both the schedules and reported scores may be wildly inaccurate.

PBR, RPI, and MP - My experience has been that a combination of all three can paint a fairly accurate picture of who's good, better, and best. I take all three individually with more than a few grains of salt.

Comparison of today's MaxPreps and KHSAA RPI, shown below ~
