John Brannen - Cincinnati Issues

After getting more info on the UC transfers and hearing former UC players speak out about the situation and show support for JB, I'm hoping he stays at UC to prevent a major rebuild....BUT, there's a lot of rumors flying right now that the AD is looking in to getting rid of him for cause, which would avoid the buyout.

Neither side has met or talked, even though JB has tried to get a face to face meeting with the UC AD to give his side of the story.

Have you heard anything with regards to an explanation on walking out at the end of that game?  Most everything else is a he said/she said type of situation...but, that instance...is on tape for the whole world to see.

Not something that was ever asked, unfortunately.

I'm curious why none of the returning players (David DeJulius confirmed this in a recent interview with Justin Williams) or Brannen have been talked to yet by the AD.

John Cunningham has a background in legal and compliance.... FWIW. Could be nothing to any of this but definitely strange that both sides have been so quiet.

I agree with that (as an outsider looking in) but the larger question is the money he is owed if UC wants to break the contract.

I can't see them breaking that contract unless they know no money will be owed.

Right, which means UC has to cook up a "for cause" argument.

If they're bringing in an outside firm to investigate things as well, could be because an internal investigation didn't bring any cause for termination.

It's pretty clear this AD doesn't want Brannen there....and how he has handled this is unacceptable. What the hell have you been doing the past two weeks?? The only statement that should have been made was "we stand behind John Brannen and support him as our head coach" or " we have decided to part ways with John Brannen and look for a different coach to lead our student athletes."

This statement just made it IMPOSSIBLE for this staff to recruit. The interviews and "investigation" should have started the Tuesday of the mass exodus. This UC AD seems to be  incompetent with how these things should go and how to handle it.

UC and Brannen need to settle and move on.
