Should have a heck of a team in ‘21.

Very conservative scheduling for a team that just finished one of their top 3 seasons in last 20 years.

As of late, Dixie has usually had at least one game against a team across the river or from further south in Kentucky, a la George Rogers Clark, Milford (OH), Tates Creek, and Corbin. This schedule reads as "reeling things back" to me.

So GRC, Tates Creek, and Milford is better than Highlands?  Schedules are usually made a yr or 2 in advance. Looks like they play tough schedule to me.

Currently, no. Highlands is a step up from those teams. But hasn't Dixie scheduled Highlands more often than not?

I guess saying it this schedule is reeling things in may be a little bit of an overstatement on my part, but Dixie is 6A. Their entire non-district schedule is playing down in class. I guess that is what stands out to me - especially 2A Lloyd Memorial and 4A Scott. Yes, 5A Cov Cath and 5A Highlands are hopefully challenging games for Dixie in the next two years. 2A Beechwood should be a challenge too. But why not try to get another 6A team on the schedule? Or take a swing at playing a GCL team?

6A team for sure but a GCL team would always destroy Dixie.  Not a chance of scheduling a GCL. No reason to do that. 

Have you followed Dixie over the years?  Are you serious?  They were 1-9 a few years ago.

I didn't say GCL south. Isn't Purcell GCL? Badin? Fenwick? McNick?

I'm well aware. I've followed NKY football for roundabout 3 decades.

What does the record a few years ago have to do with next season when Dixie obviously isn't 1-9 now?

Common mistake, haha. I've made it myself. Lots of people equate "GCL" to mean "GCL South".

Scheduled as such with possible concern that 2022 (second year of the contracts) might be a tough season?

If they want to avoid 56-0 third round playoff losses, I'd think they would "schedule up" a little. At some point the NKy. 6A programs will understand this, and maybe start playing Louisville 6A teams. There's plenty that would be competitive.

Scheduling the Bengals and UC isn’t going to make that third round game with Trinity any more competitive. Dixie’s schedule wasn’t why that game ended up 56-0.

I think teams  with championship aspirations, if possible  need to step out of their comfort  and geographic zones when scheduling.    One, they are playing better competition.    Two, they get a chance to measure what better teams consist of, how they do things, what makes them good, etc. ...... and then learn from all that.   Teams can't be afraid to take a loss here and there.   I am not familiar with Dixie's  current situation and their aspirations.     I am commenting generally.
