December 15, 200619 yr I know it's early in the year, but, UL doesn't look good at all thus far. What does everyone attribute this too? Coaching? Recruiting? Parity? Injury? I know everyone on here is going to make every excuse in the world except say what the real reason is..The real reason is because UL is very limited in quality players. My question is why? They supposedly have the #1 coach and recruiter in the land, so, why are they so shallow in quality players?

Pitino is not getting the job done and he is not recruiting well at all...................Fire Him!!! He is not a good coach.

December 15, 200619 yr You all keep trying....We wont hop on the Kentucky coach "bashing" wagon... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: They're trying so hard....
December 15, 200619 yr A lot of people say the Celtic disaster crushed him and then his brother-in-law dying in 9/11 has taken the fire away from RP.
December 15, 200619 yr Whatever the reason(s), Pitino definitely does not have the fire he had several years ago...
December 15, 200619 yr You all keep trying....We wont hop on the Kentucky coach "bashing" wagon... Those that called in last night sure were.....
December 15, 200619 yr Pitino has the fire...he is missing the small intangibles with his team, mainly the on the court disciplined decisions, and making free throws...if they take care of both, they win at least 15 more games in his tenure.
December 15, 200619 yr You all keep trying....We wont hop on the Kentucky coach "bashing" wagon... Visit some of the U of L boards; the wagon's loaded down...
December 15, 200619 yr The injury bug has hurt the Cards, no doubt, especially last season. UL has some good players imo, but in the college game you must have solid PG play to succeed. UL did not have that last season, and hopefully McGee coming back healthy will give it to UL this season.

Could it be perhaps other teams are getting better also, combined with sometimes players just aren't playing well, grasping the concept. Pitino can coach, has an up tempo style most of the time and that will lead to points, but if offensively you struggle, from shooting, ball handling and simple things, the up tempo style will lead to losses. The sky isn't falling in Louisville or Lexington, even though some want it to be. The injury bug has hurt the Cards, no doubt, especially last season.
