Frederick Douglass wins it in an ugly one. About as muddy as they come, these days.

Final.

What a game!  Congrats to both teams.

Freddie D!!

Wow good game.  Didn’t love the play call on the 2 point, I would have bootlegged and give the QB a RPO.

Whew I guess you have to win one ugly. The Broncos D will have to do a lot better next week in the secondary vs Owensboro or it will be long night for them.

Survive and advance Freddie!

IMO the mud hurt Freddie D a lot.  Speed, cutting.  On the turf I think the game tonight might have been a lot different.

Very impressed with the effort from Southwestern. They could have packed it in down 21 - 6 in the 3rd, but they battled back to being 1 yard short on a 2 point conversion from winning.

I said it in the game thread and I'll say it again now...Southwestern shouldn't have been running the ball after they intercepted it on their own 24 yard line with under a minute left in the first half.

Ifs and buts...

How much do you think that field impacted Douglass' performance, 16th?

I think a good bit. However after watching Owensboro last season I think the Douglass secondary is going to have to play a lot better than they did tonight or it will be a long night.

I think Douglass will control Owensboro in the trenches and that will be the difference in the game.

Kids from Southwestern battled all night. Nothing to hang their heads about. No one really gave them a shot and they played hard. Could’ve easily laid down when down 21-6 and the fumbled and they fought back. Great season for the warriors.
