December 2, 20205 yr So, I don't follow the Cards really close but I have read about several injuries including Williamson recently. Who all is out and if they have 2 or 3 starters out how are they winning games? Also, how are they not ranked? I am a fan of Chris Mack and think he is a really good coach.

Malik Williams (the only senior on the squad) is out 12 weeks with a broken foot, Williamson is day-to-day after dislocating his big toe, and Charles Minlend (grad transfer) is out six weeks with a knee. All three would likely be starting, Williams and Williamson would for sure be starting. A few young guys have really stepped up so far. Dre Davis, Jae’lyn Withers and JJ Traynor have all played well so far as freshmen. Carlik Jones (grad transfer) has quickly settled into his PG role and is leading them nicely.

Malik Willams, Josh Nickleberry, Charles Mineland, Samuel Williamson. I think they are winning because of good defense and being good with the ball.
December 2, 20205 yr I was surprised by the margin. I thought with all the guys out injured that Bassey would dominate. I would have been happy with 1 point win.

Having Malik Williams back will make the biggest difference, IMO, but we don't know when/if that's going to happen. If Williamson and David Johnson make a big step from last year that also makes a huge difference.

December 3, 20205 yr From my limited perspective as a TV viewer (what's with the camera angle from the upper deck at the YUM?), it looks like all the UL players are pulling in the same direction. They are now Mack's players (maybe not Mailk Williams) and they seem to be buying in.
December 3, 20205 yr Late to the party here, but WKU couldn't throw it in the ocean in this game. The first half they showed some fire but Louisville just took over with about five minutes left in the first half and went wild in the second half. I still think WKU needs to make it more of a point of emphasis to feed Bassey in the post rather than jacking up errant 3 point shots. Chris Mack is a good coach and the Cards played really well despite some injuries they are having to handle. He has them on the right path.
