Big surprise, but maybe the bigger take from this game is northern Kentucky 6A football is balanced but no real standout teams.

Dixie defense line was non effective. That is dixies biggest weakness. Ryle ran up the middle with no problems. Its been dixies weakness all year long. Got to get it solved if they want to go far in the playoffs. Landers also had no time, offensive line did not play well either. Hats off to ryles line, both sides.

Super shocked here. Ryle must have had a good game plan that worked. Dixie will need to bounce back next week.

One team was ready to play and the other team might have been reading their press clippings all week. Nice win for the Raiders.

Both teams have good lines on both sides. Ryle showed up ready to play, and won in the trenches for sure. I do disagree Dixie's weakness is NOT their defense. When you can't protect the QB and sustain drives, the defense stays on the field and gets worn down. Ryle getting turnover after turnover gave them short yardage all night. Ryle was able to use their passing game to sustain drives in the first half and with short fields. And in the second half, Ryle controlled the clock running the ball like they were supposed to do. Dixie through the first 5 games had given up an average (according to KHSAA) of only 120 yards per game total. So clearly their D-line is not a weakness. Today Ryle wanted it more and the scoreboard clearly shows that. Hats off to the Ryle football team, and their staff. Good win for them.

Thanks for that informative summary @hogstooth!

Their whole defense is not their weakness, just  defensive line. The stellar play from the second and third level is why they only give up 120 yards a game. The d line was exposed tonight. They ran up the middle anytime they wanted. It was like clockwork. There was also no pressure on the qb, he had lots of time thats why ryle was able to use their passing game.  Dixie has a good team this year and I think they can fix it.
