Not my job to defend anyone's decision on how they voted, but reasonable minds can differ. 

I think a big part of this is the 130 coaches who didn't vote and if there is a voting criteria or not.

Hergott should be #9 in career completion percent in KY state history at 65.5% when they update the records. A better career completion percent than Brian Brohm, Elijah Sindelar, Gino Guidugli, Jared Lorenzen and Tim Couch - to name a few.

Hergott generated 3,545 yards offense this year. Sheron was more than 1,000 yards behind Hergott with 2,481 yards. Wimsatt had 2,478 offensive yards. McNamee had 1,660 offensive yards, almost 2,000 yards less than Hergott. 

Finally, let's add in Hergott earned a ring this season and none of the others did. Hergott won two state titles as QB (2018 and 2020).

Great post and completely agree, but Hergott actually finished higher than Broyles in completion percentage this year.

Is this even a debate? It is lopsided when you add up all the stats (historic state record level completion percent; 2,500 yards passing; 1,000 yards rushing) plus a state title and title game MVP. What justification can anyone make this year for any player other than Hergott as Mr. Football?

If he would have played the final week of the year and the first playoff game he would have been over 3,000 yards passing and compile that with over 1,000 rushing that makes for such a great year. He deserves it. I would hate for him to not get it because NKY coaches don’t like to vote on these things.
