The Colonels played mostly backups against SK's starters for most of the second half.

Caught the first half tonight. Evan Pitzer is so clearly going to be a stud at QB. Good arm, extends plays with his feet, very accurate (especially on the run), he's incredibly impressive for a freshman QB. The only negative right now is that he doesn't have a top arm or he isn't an elite athlete but everything else is there.

His arm looks VERY nice. But they also had Charlie Dieruf in at QB in the second half (switched over from starting RB) and Dieruf's running ability is definitely superior to Pitzer's. They didn't try to throw with Dieruf too much, but I know he's also a baseball player, and as a 15 year old freshman, he tops off around 85mph...so I'd like to see what they could do with that if they get him to focus more on throwing a football.

Charlie can REALLY run, not sure on the arm strength. Rodriguez and Leen also standout. Both of those guys are going to be really hard to keep off the field next year. 

Cov Cath just beat Highlands 13-6. Both teams had a blocked PAT. The Colonels had some dumb penalties, like freshman do sometimes. Casey Bir and Owen Leen both had great games carrying the ball, and Bir looked good at linebacker too. The Colonels offense stalled once after 1st and goal inside the 5 and with a red zone interception.

Highlands has some solid players in Carson Class, Dalton Roller, and RB Geisler (I missed his first name).

Yes I was told CCH could have ewon by a few scores, but they didn’t as the Birds gave a solid team. Someone also said this is something like their 9th straight year of CCH winning the Frosh game-seems to portend well for CCH once the Varsity staff gets to start coaching them.

That is not true.  My son was a frosh in 2012 and they did not lose to them.

I hope they keep the CCH season pass after this season, since I was able to watch this in about 20 minutes skipping through all the downtime. 

The thing that stands out about the CCH class is the size and athleticism of the skill guys and QB play. A bunch of big kids that can run, which will be a much needed boost to the varsity.

My fault-it started in 2013, and I should no better about last year since I have a close relation in that class but he had already been moved to JV and did not play in that game.

Cov Cath downs Beechwood 33-14.

That makes the Colonels 4-0.

Evan Pitzer's arm looks better and better with each game. Owen Leen is going to be a really nice addition in the backfield for Cov Cath, as is Carter Newborn. Willie Rodriguez, Charlie Dieruf and Casey Bir are all studs...and kicker Alex Brock is really impressive as a freshman.
