Is Talent Down in KY?

Featured Replies

Senior class this year doesn't seem as strong.

Has Kenny White decided? What about Alex Matthews?

I believe White has committed to Tennessee Tech. Is Matthews good enough to go D1?

Correct on White.

The Glenn kid, who is a freshman at Male, could be a major D1 prospect if he continues to develop!

From what I saw, probabaly aren't many in the state better than him right now!

Two of the best players in this year's senior class, Justin Powell (North Oldham/Auburn) and Howard Fleming (Male/Illinois State) have been limited by injuries this year. Collins has two D I signees not already mentioned in Dayvion McKnight (WKU) and Marcellus Vail (Samford). All in all, this looks like a pretty typical year to me.

Undergraduate talent in the Louisville area is abundant and includes the previously mentioned Kaleb Glenn of Male (freshman); Ballard's Maker Bar (sophomore), Gabe Sisk (freshman), and Jake Edelen (freshman); Fern Creek's Jaden Rogers, Zek Montgomery, and Darius Washington (all juniors); Eastern's James Jewell and Christian Spalding (both sophomores); DeSales' Sekou Kalle (junior); Trinity's Miles Franklin (sophomore); and Jeffersontown's Brandon Rayzor-Moore (sophomore). A lot of good young talent.

I like the freshman guard from Ashland, Colin Porter, but he’s the class of 2023. I’m pretty sure he will be D-1.

A lot can change between now and 2023 but Colin is projected to be a high major D1 player. I've seen him rated as high as the #2 pg in his class and all rankings I've seen have him in the top 5. It seems that he and LeBrons son have developed a competitive friendship on the aau circuit.

Coach Cow has proven he doesn’t want them anyway.

So Powell to Auburn and Traynor to Louisville are the only two non mid major D-1 players in the senior class? Everyone else is D-1 mid major or below in the senior class right? Think about the 1998 season you had Jaron Brown Pitt, Eric Brown Louisville, David Graves Notre Dame, Shawn Fields Georgia and Rick Jones Vandy all in the 11th region.
