January 8, 20206 yr Anyone catch the first night of the tournament? I cannot explain to you how pumped I have been for this event. If you are not familiar, the three top earning winners of all time (Brad Rutter, Ken Jennings, and James Holzhauer) are squaring off in a prime time event on ABC. Each night they play two Jeopardy! games. Whomever tallies the highest scores wins a point. First to three wins. Night one, Ken Jennings beat out Jeopardy James by $200.
January 8, 20206 yr Author By the way, the clues are super hard across the board. No clue how these guys are able to do it. Holzahuer has completely forever changed how Jeopardy! is played. All six daily doubles the contestants went all in. Ironically enough, Rutter found four but missed three of them. Go figure.
January 8, 20206 yr Crazy that James lost by just $200 and didn’t get a single daily double out of 6.
January 8, 20206 yr Two games a night? Is this airing at the normal Jeopardy time slot or a special prime time slot?
January 8, 20206 yr Two games a night? Is this airing at the normal Jeopardy time slot or a special prime time slot? Airing at 8pm on NBC.
January 8, 20206 yr Author Two games a night? Is this airing at the normal Jeopardy time slot or a special prime time slot? It is two games, back-to-back. Highest cumulative score for these two games each night earns a point. It is on prime time on ABC (8 EST). This thing could go three nights up to seven.

All six daily doubles the contestants went all in. Ironically enough, Rutter found four but missed three of them. Go figure. I'm normally pretty good at answering the clues, but man those questions were hard. The one category with the rhyming, 3 part answers, those guys crushed, and I coudn't even process the question to think of an answer. And while there were some wrong answers given, I think nearly every question, except the daily doubles that were missed, was correctly answered by someone.
January 8, 20206 yr Ken Jennings could have won by much more, he only bet enough on the last final Jeopardy to ensure that James couldn't catch him. I came into this thinking Ken was the underdog. He was dominant in the first game and neck and neck in the second, putting himself in position to win the match.
January 8, 20206 yr Anybody know if this can be streamed anywhere? All A has me occupied this week, and I haven't thought to record the event.

I came into this thinking Ken was the underdog. He was dominant in the first game and neck and neck in the second, putting himself in position to win the match. Oddsmakers had Rutter as the favorite, followed by James, then Ken. But there was not much separation in the odds. Rutter seemed to find his groove the last half of round two, after missing his second daily double. Still the only player to never lose and has actually beat Ken three different times. If I was setting the odds I would have went Ken, Rutter, then James.
January 9, 20206 yr Anybody know if this can be streamed anywhere? All A has me occupied this week, and I haven't thought to record the event. I'm sure ABC has it available.
January 9, 20206 yr Spoiler: It's scheduled to be on TV for 3 nights this week and 4 nights next week. Sounds like we have a 3 way tie at two going into the last night. Maybe they did that to throw everyone off...:idunno:
