gametime
With all of this suggested moving around the big question is "Who is on First?" Hatte from the left and Aaron Boone from the right... :sssh:
LRCW
Hatte from the left and Aaron Boone from the right... :sssh: I've read Boone rumors also, but I can't see the Reds signing both Boone and Loretta. They both would fill the same role.
h.s.sportsrbest
Hatte from the left and Aaron Boone from the right... :sssh: I believe if Loretta signs it's Hatte from the left and Mark from the right. I don't think you'll see Booney on board after the Loretta signing...assuming it happens.
westsider
Loretta has no power, not what you would want in a platoon 1B.
h.s.sportsrbest
Loretta has no power, not what you would want in a platoon 1B. Hatte doesn't either...you ready to run him out of town? When you are getting 20+ bombs from SS (my prediction), you can live with a high average / high on-base guy at 1B...IMHO.
LRCW
According to Narron the Reds haven't made an offer to Loretta. Marc's Blog

Hatteberg's OPS was in the low .800s, passable for a 1B, but I wouldn't want to count on him so heavily for 2007. Loretta's OPS was in the low .700s ... passable for a 2B but totally unacceptable for a guy on the corners.
cshs81
Hatteberg certainly has more power than Loretta. Hatteberg's OBP was in the low .800s, passable for a 1B, but I wouldn't want to count on him so heavily for 2007. h.s.sportsrbest
You mean OPS and not OBP. Darn it, I thought Westy was guaranteeing me that Hatte and Loretta would be on base 7 and 8 times out of 10. I'm so disappointed.
