Actually as GM that is your job. You're fired. :p

I'd like to be the head of the players association so I could say, "I'm not only a client I'm the player president...."

Signing Loretta means they aren't putting all of their eggs in one basket with Gonzalez at short.

Completely disagree.

Gonzalez was retired and a career. 240 hitter.

For the record Gonzalez is a career .246 hitter, and the Reds didn't sign him for his bat. When did Gonzalez retire?

If you weren't so tight, I'd have been able to make some moves!:irked:

A. When was he retired? He's only 29.

B. He'll hit 20+ bombs in GABP next year and drive in 75 runs.

C. They make keep Castro as "insurance," but signing Loretta has nothing to do with SS.

I was thinking of the other one. The one who actually did retire.

Gonzalez was retired and a career. 240 hitter.
You're thinking of the "other" Alex Gonzalez, the former Expos and Cubs' SS who was with the Phillies last season. You know, the guy whose culpability for the Cubs' NLCS collapse in 2003 was overshadowed by Steve Bartman.

The Reds signed the Alex Gonzalez that has played for the Marlins and Red Sox.

Signing Loretta means they aren't putting all of their eggs in one basket with Gonzalez at short.
Actually, I can see the Reds shifting Phillips over to SS occasionally to give Loretta some time at 2B.

With all of this suggested moving around the big question is "Who is on First?"

I think Narron is against moving his "regulars" around, based on what I've heard. I think when Gonzalez gets a day off, Loretta will just play SS. They are paying Gonzalez a lot of money, he's going to get every opportunity to play through offensive struggles -- his glove will keep him playing everyday.
