January 5, 20206 yr Looks good MSF! Especially if you hand routed all those signs. Nowadays a lot are going the CNC route, which don't get me wrong, still looks nice, but just isn't my cup of tea.

That's also why I will not own a wood lathe.

January 5, 20206 yr Author Nice dovetail work. Are you "hand tools only" on these too? No. I used a dovetail jig.
January 6, 20206 yr Those are awesome @Mayfieldsportsfan! I'm particularly fond of that Cardinal! Do you ever make cornhole sets?
January 6, 20206 yr I'm super-impressed by the hand routing! I'm absolute crap using a router, lol. I've never really tried my hand at wood working, but I am super jealous of people who are great craftsmen.
January 6, 20206 yr I've never really tried my hand at wood working, but I am super jealous of people who are great craftsmen. I tried it about 15 years ago. I made some ok pieces of furniture, like a sofa table, and a couple end tables, and some chests. But I never really put the time or effort in to get really good at it. In the end, I didn't have the space, or budget for good tools to really get to the next level. One might be able to argue that the talent wasn't there either. My dad carved wood duck decoys, all by hand, aside from using a big dand saw to get the initial block down to a workable shape and size. His patience and talent did not filter down to me.
