9th Region Freshmen Standings

Recommended Posts

8 jrs? And not one taller than 6'2. Why would you carry 8 in one class?

its another thread but the style of play fits keeping all of those guys I guess. They play tenacious/physical man to man. I think they need to keep the Frosh on the Frosh team and let some of the Jr's play JV to get them minutes. Playing 5-7 min a game is not a lot of game action.

The Freshman group also need to stick together and mold as a team. Sometimes moving them up breaks that continuity.

With no size and hopefully most of them coming late due to football that will be a huge problem. Willie went with a senior dominated team last year, thinking he had a regional champ. He was wrong and left the cupboard bare. 8 is too many unless they are all studs and you not only plan to win region but think you can go deep at Rupp. Is that case with this class??

They play Jan. 17 at Boone, unless Highlands is also in the Holy Cross Holiday Tournament. Remains to be seen how many of their best freshman players will play. Not all of them have been playing in each game. Big Earls is strictly varsity. Gabbard, Popp, and Flannery have also logged varsity minutes already and all start or are key players on the undefeated J.V. squad. Cotton is also playing J.V. now.
