I’m a McCracken fan so I hope he makes it back, but I’m also a realist. The mental aspect will be the hardest wound to heal.

That's good news. Hope he comes back the same caliber player he was pre injury.

Toughest kid I have ever seen or played with, probably average 20 tackles a game 4th-7th grade, severely dislocated his hip in a 7th grade football game. Never played another down the rest of his life.

 

My son broke his ankle a couple years ago and was out 8 months. He also cracked a bone in his shoulder/arm and was only out 7 weeks, so who knows. His ankle break was REALLY bad though.

1A: Pikeville and Paintsville will both be tough. Would love to see NCC get back to the level they once were at.

 

2A: Somerset will be the favorite and be tough again. As will LCA. Breathitt loses some studs but will be in the conversation.

 

3A: Belfry is always in the conversation at seasons end.

 

4A: Johnson has to be the favorite. Boyle will be good but will fall off from this past year. Wayne will be extremely tough with Sloan back. Corbin will be good but will have to replace key defensive pieces, which makes me think they'll be second to Wayne again after allowing them to score 63 to end the year.

 

5A: FD, Cov Cath, BG, South Warren, your typical 5A powers.

 

6A: Trinity, Male, Dupont had a nice season.

4A: I look for Corbin to be very strong come playoff time next season. They did give up 63 to Wayne last season to end there season but they also had 5 turnovers and scored 49 points themselves in that game. Wayne takes a bigger hit on defense than Corbin. Both offenses stay pretty much intact. I think the winner of this game will give Johnson Central a run for there money. Should be a fun year in 4A again. I think also Boyle, Louisville Central and or Franklin County will be there in the end as well.

I'd like to see Holy Cross and KCD remain top teams as well in 1A.

The rest I think you're spot on.

Although Oldham County wasn't really in the mix this year for 6A contenders, they basically lose everyone from last years team so I don't see Oldham being at a top level next year but after next year they should be one of 6As best teams especially with Sam Young being at the reigns for his senior season. The dude is a stud at QB.
