Louisville residents are never going to say someone outside the city is the best team in the state. Just how it is.

 

There have been a handful of occasions where we are willing to entertain it, but the evidence needs to be considerable. Beating FD 14-7 hardly raises any eyebrows in this town.

Guys I have seen both Cov. Cath. and Trinity from the sidelines up close and personal. To be honest it’s not that close. I will be the first to tell you that Trinity or Male don’t have anyone as good as Michael Mayer. But they have 5 or 6 other players that’s as good or better than anyone else on Cov. Cath.

Maybe if the outside of Louisville teams actually stepped up and played Trinity and Male we might think differently.

Mostly because there have been very few times when that were true.

 

I agree. But I dont agree with a lot of yall just thinking Male was hands down better than CCH this year. And furthermore using the FD result for the argument just doesn't cut it. Male beat Manual by 1 point. Scott County beat Manual by 2 TDs. FD beat Scott County twice. Once very handily. Just saying it's hard to confidently say Male is better than CCH.

I would like to see that too. And yes I agree year in year out the Big 3 are very good. But there are exceptions to the rule. I'm with you though, I would like to see more in state games with them. But i guess there's a reason people don't play them. I'm just hardheaded lol.

Makes more sense for a NKY team like Cov Cath to schedule a GCL school than a Louisville school. Cov Cath has the best win in the state this year beating La Salle who many would argue is better than any team in Louisville this year.

I have Boyle ranked 5, but there isn't another team in the state that scares me as much as them in a matchup vs. Cov Cath.

Makes more sense for a NKY team like Cov Cath to schedule a GCL school than a Louisville school. Cov Cath has the best win in the state this year beating La Salle who many would argue is better than any team in Louisville this year.

 

I agree that logistically it makes more since for CovCath to play an annual GCL South game rather than a game against Trinity or X. Much easier for the fan base to get to the games and most fans are more interested in playing the Cincy Catholic schools than Trinity or X.

We play GCL South teams in baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, and all the other sports. It makes sense we would play them in football too.
