The Eagles were able to practice at EKU Wednesday. In an interview, Coach Clark says they are playing their best ball of the season. Looking forward to the game tonight.

Question for CovCath fans (and just trying to get a feel for this and not threadjack), should CovCath be "fortunate" to advance this Friday, don't NKY teams (specifically CovCath and Highlands) like to try to schedule afternoon games the day after Thanksgiving? I was just wondering if anyone might have any insight into that potential semi-final game and when it might be played.

Thanks very much!

I don't know of any N. Ky. teams that do this. However, with the new KHSAA seeding, I can see teams doing this. I can see more 6 pm starting times.

VOR,

I went to the Highlands vs Pulaski County Semi-Final game at Highlands in 2015, which started at 2pm, as best I can remember. I then drove straight to BG to watch BG play Fern Creek.

It was a great day of High School Football getting in 2 games at the Semi-Final Round. I was hoping to do the same this year if there is an early game. I am simply going off that experience and hoping to replicate it to a degree.

The game would be Friday night.

I was thinking the same thing, VOR.

Speaking for Cov Cath, traditionally if we made it that far in the playoffs, our home games were on Saturday afternoons as was required by not having a lighted field. The playoff system had us on the road in 2017 and 2018, which are the two times we've still been playing football after Thanksgiving since getting lights, and we were playing on Friday evening both of those years. Like @Bluesport said, if we play next week, it's going to be on Friday night.

Colonels are mostly healthy and ready for Friday: we expect a hard fought game.

It's been exciting seeing Wyatt Schwartz getting worked back into things after his injury in the Campbell County game. He spent a little time in the game in the second half against Cooper, I believe just on defense. I'm pretty sure that was his first playing time since coming back. Then he ended up with a nice reception last week. Hoping to see him get a little more action here at the end of his senior year.

CCH hasn’t hosted a state semi final playoff game since 2001. And, as stated, those game were always on Saturdays, much to the chagrin of my great buddy, Dudley Hilton.

Hilton didn’t mind playing on Thursdays though...

Colonels kick off.

1st and 10 Mad South on the 16 yard line.

2 yard run.

2nd and 8.

Run goes nowhere.

3rd and 8.

QB Storm fumbles when he's hit by Mayer.

Carter Martin recovers and runs it 2 yards into the endzone and it's signaled a TD.

Officials call back the TD and signal the QB down.

Mad South punts.
