November 12, 20196 yr With Verizon you get one year for free so it is there for me if I want to give it a whirl. Not sure I will venture that way. Reasons: - I do not have kids, so I am not sitting around wanting to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. - I am not in to Marvel super hero movies. There are too many. - Disney+ does not have any R-Rated movies. Lame. - I honestly do not have the time between watching sports, Netflix, and you know, a job.
November 12, 20196 yr Author I'm with you @bugatti. No kids at home, so I won't be adding it. Its going to get to the point when you have to pay for everyone's own streaming service that it isn't a cheaper alternative anymore.

I feel like we are watching the streaming television version of conference realignment. HBO Max and Peacock are the next two set to launch. It will be interesting to see how all of this unfolds, but we are set for some massive mergers at some point, right? I assume Amazon, Apple, and Disney have the deepest pockets. Netflix and Hulu have the best market data having been in the game for a while. Who knows what any of this means?

Sure you can get cheaper options, but you also get a fraction of the channels as cable.

But on balance, we probably only watch a fraction of the channels offered on cable. If it were not for the live sports, I would "cut the cord", but I can't find an alternative to my liking yet.

November 13, 20196 yr Until there is lot more new content, you're just paying to watch movies you've probably already watch...again. The Mandalorian is the only new content that has my interest so far. Edited November 13, 20196 yr by Jumper_Dad

November 13, 20196 yr Heard good things about it, but it would only save me $10 a month. Yeah the key to it is getting the right price on internet. Spectrum was charging me $140 for all the sports channels I needed plus internet. Ive now got combined internet and YouTubeTV for about $98 all told.

I have a co-worker that cut the cord, 9 months later, with a litany of ala carte streaming services, he was actually paying more (and more hassles with passwords and things).
