John Anthony
Chase Young just released a tweet that JA was paraphrasing. I got a text from a friend who said he wasn’t practicing this week and to prepare for bad news. That’s why I couldn’t really get into the playoff ranking thread. Guest
Sounds like this will not be a big deal. I expect him back soon.
TheDeuce
Worst case scenario for Chase is he gets a couple extra months to focus on being the top pick in the NFL draft. I'm sure he'd rather play, but there are worse positions to be in.

He's absolutely right. The competitor in Chase will be screaming that he wants to play, but in terms of his wallet, not playing and preparing for the draft is exactly what he should be doing. Applies to Tua and Burrow as well?
GrantNKY
The best thing for Chase’s draft stock is to come in to the WHAC every day and get coached by Larry Johnson.
Guest
Yeah, weird world of college football. Bosa did it last year and it worked out nice for him. Can’t say I like it. I guess this really applies to the top 1% in college football.
Voice of Reason
Speculating from outside the realm, the key question for me is who is the family friend? If it is a booster or someone linked to an agent, then it is a bigger issue.
tcjkbt
If it was a family friend, why didn't his family borrow the money so that he would not have to get involved......or would that be a violation, too?

You would think they’ve heard of Cam Newton, right lol?
TheDeuce
Was it a family friend or an NFL agent?
TheDeuce
If this is truly about a kids family being able to travel to a bowl game, college athletics HAVE to move forward from this kind of nonsense. If a booster wants to pay for flights for a kid who is already enrolled they should be able to IMO.
