Who wins this BluegrassPreps 6A Top 10 showdown? This is also a big district matchup as well. This game also presents us with two of the three undefeated teams left in Class 6A. Both teams come in at 8-0 on the season.

North Hardin 36-27.

This should be a terrific game. Makes me consider driving down for it.

Good luck to both teams and no injuries!

Should be the best game played in Hardin County in a long time. I'm partial to my Bruins. Gonna take Central 34 to 28.

I've seen both teams up close. North Hardin is much better on defense but Central has so many weapons on offense. I'll give the edge to Central Hardin. I don't see how this one isn't close.

Central Hardin 28

North Hardin 20

I think this will be good game but I’m taking N. Hardin because of their defense.

Why Friday night is so important to Hardin County football fans

To have the spotlight on Hardin County football Friday night means the world to football fans in this area of the state, 44 miles from the limelight of programs like Trinity, Male and St Xavier. What first started in July as a pipe dream of winning a District championship now comes to fruition as the hard work, dedication, and dreams meet reality on a field in Cecilia Kentucky on Friday night as North Hardin’s powerhouse defense meets Central Hardin’s dynamic offense.

What are the variables in this game?

Can Central Hardin offensive line protect Chase Elmore and allow him time to find Gavin George downfield? Can Central Hardin defensive front get a push up front and put pressure on North Hardin’s QB Manie Wimberly and contain Lavell Wright out of the backfield?

Can North Hardin devise a defensive scheme to contain and limit Central Hardin’s WR Gavin George from having a big night?

In what might be the key matchup Friday, How effective can WR Josh Moore be with Gavin George shadowing him at safety?

Let’s break down the matchups:

Central Hardin FG kicker:

North Hardin FG kicker:

North Hardin Defense:Team Solo Tackles 218/ Assisted Tackles 165/ Total Tackles 383/ TFL 60/ Sacks 42.5

While North Hardin’s defense is big, fast and physical, the statistics seem to indicate that the Central Hardin defense has more total tackles with more players involved in team tackling. This also indicates more linebacker and DB tackles by Central Hardin. This can indicate a stronger North Hardin Defensive line.

Coaching win/loss since 2014

Central Hardin Tim Mattingly: 51-21 4 District Championships/ 2 Region Championships

North Hardin Brent Thompson 32-32 1 District Championship.

With a disciplined team that hangs its hat on Effort, Attitude and Toughness, Central Hardin has reached record wins and achievements during this span. North Hardin has built a program that has gone 17-3 the last 2 seasons.

Who Wins? Why?

Hardin County Preps, are you going to be providing some game updates on here? I’ll checking in on this game.

Not too familiar with their schedules....what is considered the best win or two for each team so far this season?
