I saw something that really bothered me last year in this one. Far too often this team is right around 10 points 10 minutes into the game. Do that Saturday, and look out...

You watch the Duke game in the first half???

I think it was something like 9-7 with 10 left in the half....

Yup. I don't watch either close enough to know if it's a regular issue though. With UK I am 100% sure this was a major problem last year...

It definitely has concerned me, but it seems to be happening more and more across the country....Teams just seem to start out extremely slow against the weak OOC opponents anymore.

I'd almost rather see Woo or Jared Carter in the starting lineup over Sheray, although his line isn't too bad tonight. The only problem with that is how susceptible Morris is to foul trouble (aka bad / lazy defense).

Bradley needs to play about 10 minutes..at the point. He needs to play another 15 or so at the 2-guard position. Jasper can handle 15-20 minutes a game at the point & Porter can come in for the rest.

I was wrong about Porter - I think he can contribute this year, simply due to his shooting ability. I don't quite feel comfortable with him at the point, but I'm not really comfortable with anyone at the point just yet. Bradley is probably our best bet, but Jasper will be better in the long run. I say those 2 need to split the time.

I didn't get to watch tonight's game, but this is what I've seen thus far & have heard about tonight's game...

Not the BEST teams...

Sheray was absolutely terrible tonight - just like every other night. He is like a fish out of water at this level of basketball.

Who is the weak OOC in the Duke/IU game??? ;)

And he is a starter at UK as is Bobby Perry. Just shows you how far things have fallen in the past 9 years and 6 games.

I didn't mean in that game, I just meant that UK isn't the only team struggling in the early minutes of the first half. Most are against weak OOC teams.....Better for ya?:p

I have a theory on that I'm sitting on for a few more weeks of evidence... :sssh:

Is like the Palmer theory???;)

Is like the Palmer theory???;)

I can only hope this one is as right as that one... ;)

I think I have come to the conclusion that I myself could bully and dominate Sheray in the paint. He's terrible. I might have more hops than him to but I may be pushing it there.

A win, not pretty but nonetheless a win....Rebounding lacked fundamentals, boxing out and putting a body on an opponent.

Bradley handled the PG much better tonight. Morris was looking to score, inside and on the baseline. Effort was there but not a highlight film game. I thought Meeks played well, broke down the defense with dribble penetration. Crawford played hard, forced some shots but no one, on either team shot well, until late.

Outside shooting was poor for the most part, plus shot selection was not in the flow of the offense. Sometimes you will have games, where neither team could establish the tempo and you just have to survive, win and get ready for the next one.

I like Jasper, his floor awareness and instincts, along with Meeks. Porter gives his best and once Stevenson gets some upper body size, he will help more.

I agree with all points you made STRIKE, I will add that you could tell that Tubby obviously had stressed defense all week (which was needed desperately). I still say that this team wil be o.k.. We obviously will have atough go of it Saturday (at UNC)-who imo is one of the top three or four teams in the country along with Fla.,UCLA and Ohio State.

I think the most underrated thing I saw tonight was the number of times Joe Crawford was on the floor.

:thumb: When the new players see an upperclassmen hustle like that it get contagious.
