After looking really good with run and pass balance vs. Oldham Co., the Raiders looked like they caught a bad case of opening night jitters at CovCath. Also, their best O lineman got nicked up on the first or second series and missed the rest of the evening. CovCath took it to a running clock on the second play of the fourth quarter because the Ryle O was non-existent. Other than the defense which held CovCath on 4 straight first half possessions, the Raiders played miserably. The QB has settled in and thrown nice balls in every game. Offense and defense are drastically improved over last year, and the Ryle pass defense has been the best I've seen in many years at Ryle. Both teams hit hard and are fast to the football. I look for quite a competitive game at the Fort Friday night. Hopefully I am right for once.

If Ryle has as good of a pass D as you say (and I'll take your word for it). I'm really looking forward to seeing how they defend the HHS offense and the 5-6 receivers who will get the ball. Who are some of the guys we should keep our eye on from the Ryle D?

Really looking forward to broadcasting the game tonight on (859) Sports Radio! Should be a really great game. I was impressed with HHS last week against SK as Hollingsworth is that dual threat QB. England was so impressive two years ago as sophomore and has really progressed into that featured back we've gotten so used to at Ryle, as he's already up to over 500 yards on the ground. Of course, Highlands does a great job with these and the announcer is very matter of fact and easy to understand, just great stuff for a high school.
