A different question: was she claiming he forced her or otherwise used violence or is it a case of Me Too where a person in a position of power takes advantage of it to seduce someone who wants a job?

I hope for whatever the truth is, that the truth prevails. I am conditioned to think more like you and Deuce. But I also know that is a very narrow way of looking at these things. Why we are more likely to go against the word of a potential victim? If history shows us anything, people with senses of entitlement and power (AB checks both of those) are often abusers.

It’s way too easy to ruin someone’s reputation with an accusation like this, whether true or not. It’s supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. In these cases, it’s often guilty until proven innocent.

The victim sounds like she has evidence beyond "he said/she said". There apparently are messages from AB that support her story.

And what I just heard is that it was known this was coming. This wasn’t a spur of the moment thing. AB’s agent knew this was coming at some point. Therefore, were the Patriots informed about this prior to signing him?

We have completely opposite views on this. I think the overwhelming majority of the time people believe the victims, sometimes with little or nothing to go on, and the accused has to prove they are innocent, rather than the other way around.

 

My stance on this is firm. I’ve seen it happen multiple times. Not to celebrities, but normal people. Once to a close friend. It’s a dangerous accusation to make when it’s not true. And what’s worse, it makes things worse for actual victims.

AB's legal team says it was consensual. It may very well have been (of course I have no way of knowing) since it was 3 incidents spread out over months. Why would she put herself in harm's way again after the first incident?
