May be others.

EKU and Villanova are I-AA right? So only four to Division I schools and yet four titles and in another title game. That's amazing.

Maybe 5 titles...we shall see.

I don't believe Yale gives athletic scholarships, but I may be wrong.

Moreover, I do not believe this team will have any seniors get a D-I scholarship this year. I hope I am wrong.

I think Trinity has some good prospects at the D-1 level this is including D-1AA and D-A. Will they get the attention or looks from colleges I do not know

The Ivy League, as I understand it, does not award athletic scholarships, but generously awards aid to athletes based on need.

Correct Westsider. Not, that I knew from personal experience!

Thanks.

So Trinity now only has two (2) D-I scholarship football players in seven (7) years, yet has been to the State Finals six out of seven years. Truly remarkable.

It sure dispels the myth that Trinity wins with superior talent.

Thanks.

I think Trinity does more with as much, but I don't think that the Rocks can claim less. Less division one atheletes yes, less depth of excellent college prospects at every position, no. Lets not forget about a plethora of athletes at Trinity that don't play further at any level due to feeling burnt out. How many players on their team couldn't be at least competative D3 players?

Trinity wins because of: great coaching, numbers( creates competition for playing time), solid athletes, knowledge of position responsibility and corresponding excecution, tradition and the will to win. A player does not have to be college mateiral to be an outstanding hs player.

Since Ive been down here in Louisiana, Ive seen two similar programs: John Curtis and Evangel- only difference is 180- 300 students in school and great athletes. Otherwise, all of the schools we see each year in the national limelight share many of these same qualitys.

Since Trinity has over 1400 boys and the average 4A team has 750 or so, it's a little hard for me to accept they do more with less.

That's true...though it is hard to sneak all of those extra guys onto the field, and make it look like there's only 11 out there.

I bet opposing QB’s think that there are more than 11 defensive players on the field.:D

That one is one of my favorite excuses.

Thats true... but the point he is making is that the larger the number of boys, the greater the chances of good or excellent athletes. For example, if on average 1 in 10 boys is a superior athlete and one in 100 is a far above average athlete, T or X would have over 150 or 160 superior or far above average athletes to choose from vs. 75 or 80 with schools with lesser enrollments. That is why I have long felt that perhaps Fort Thomas Highlands truly does more with less than any Kentucky school in football.
