Russell 19 Belfry 0

I was standing at the fence in that cornor of the endzone. It was a great effort but he was out of bounds. It was the correct call. I understand his frustration but you have to keep your head.

:thumb: Your right is was the correct call. It was a great effort and he was frustrated. I love to see a kid play with that much heart and emotion most kids wouldn't have even tried to make the play down 3 scores with 3 minutes to go he busted his tail to try to make a play. I don't agree with his argument with the official let the coaches do that, I do applaud his heart and desire! I appreciate that because I'm kinda emotional too;)

Ya think so.:fire:

Either the Russell team just made it back or there is a 5 alarm fire down the street.

How's your back man! Next week at the Pizza Box you can jump on me after the first Devil TD!

I just think that there is something about green carpet that totally turns these Russell guys on. It's yours for the taking. GO GET IT!!!!!!!!

Its a little sore. I'll just use Jr. as a buffer again.

No, I couldn't have made it tonight without him.

So is Clark a little banged up like Watsui speculated, or can we expect him to be 100% next weekend?

I have a question:

When Clark was fieldng the punts he twice waited til the last second and dropped to a knee. From a spectator's standpoint he appeared to be fishing for a late hit against Belfry, but neither time he received it and instead took some pretty solid hits. Has he been doing this all season?

If I am a Devil fan I am worried that this could cause some serious risks.

OK, tonite these seniors showed me that they do still have the "fire in the belly" for another state championship. This Belfry team played super defense; the offense was never on track. I think the Devil defense had something to do with that. The blitz absolutley wreaked havoc all nite for the Pirate QB. Coach Morris deserves some kudos for a great scheme. We caught them behind the line of scrimmage so many times I lost count. #20 was a nonfactor due to great D line play.

I was surprised to see the bickering between #6 and #11 after the personal foul. It looked like Haywood actually hit the kid when he got him over on the sideline. Did that really happen?

Looking forward to a great game in Louisville!

Go Devils!!!

No. He has not been doing that all year.

The first one should have been a late hit.

Josh Wills played AMAZING!!! Series after series Belfry would have 2nd and long or 3rd and longer because of Russell defensive plays on 1st down. I would love to see the stats on Belfry's 1st down plays, it wouldn't be much. I thought that was a big key tonight.

Tyler Jones also played great and made a "Play of the Year" candidate play to throw the TD that set the final score. He has continued to improve at the QB position all year and has really turned into a heck of a player at that position. I don't know if Russell has ever thrown for 3 TD while not having a single TD come from a rush. I would bet it's never happened before.

Kasey Clark also played well. Belfry had 1 sometimes 2 guys shadowing him and he had only 6 carries but he still found a way to be a factor. He made some very nice catches at critical points throughout the game and he was used as a very affective decoy. Kasey will be Kasey, he will be a factor.

One last thing, I would like to thank the Belfry faithful for their great hospitality and the Belfry faithful here on BGP who have shown nothing but class this entire week including tonight after the game. It's easy to be nice when you win but what shows true character is how you act in defeat. The entire Belfry program and it's fanbase are a class act. Thank you for your hospitality.

The first one should have been a late hit.

:D Once again I watched the replay..the TD catch by epling you were correct.. but on the first punt I saw no signs of it being a blatant late hit and the ref had made no indication of calling the play dead when the defender made the hit:thumb:

HAHA... but seriously I love the kid's moxie and his football mind but as a coach I would much rather have Kasey healthy than take a chance of a 15 yard penalty

He's fine. He'll be 110% come Friday, you can bet on that.
