Reds vs. Marlins (4/9 - 4/11)

Figured I'd try my hand at starting a thread, and see if I can't change the luck for the old Redlegs.

My prediction is the little scuffle yesterday, seeing a manager go to bat for a player, and Puig's fire is the spark they needed. They will win 2 of 3 in this series, winning the first two and dropping the get away game.

I am in a spot where I desperately need them to win a couple games in this series.

I'm going to the game on Thursday. So write that down as a "W"!

My thoughts too. Hope we're right!

Certainly felt that way for the Monday & Tuesday game of last week. I feel like there might be a repeat tonight and tomorrow but at least it will be warmer.

Tonight on the bump:

Luis Castillo (0-1, 1.42 ERA, 17 SO) vs Jose Urena (0-2, 10.38 ERA, 6 SO)

Reds have got to come out and beat Urena early. He's struggled mightily so far. You don't beat him and go into tomorrow facing Richards on a 9 game skid and we may very well be looking at a 10 game skid on the get away day.

Votto leading all Reds hitters in average at .226. I know it's early, but yikes.

Puig out tonight and tomorrow, David Bell also out tonight.

Kemp is going to play next two nights so we can see what he has. Strikeouts in first AB. He has struck out in 11 of his 23 at bats.

Unfortunately you are correct, took 2 pitches belt high in the middle of the plate and swung at 2 about 10 inches outside, really got 4 strikes and still struck out according to the box, just looks like he doesn’t have a clue, and yes, so does Schebler, Winker is getting some good swings, Kemp and Schebler look like a blind man looking for a black sock in a dark room!

Kemp line drive single in second at bat.

Schebler singles home a run and Suarez is thrown out going to third. Earlier he was throw out going to second on a throw home. Two outs given to the Marlins by Suarez to take the Reds out of scoring chance. Reds not good enough to do that.

Kemp grounds out in his third AB. I not saying anything about Kemp, but Reds do an AARP commercial during his AB.

BY FAR the best swing Kemp has put on a ball.

Reds have to be worst baserunning team in MLB!
