Reds at Pirates (4/4 - 4/7)

BREAKING NEWS: Reds shutout for the third straight time. Have not scored in 28 straight innings. This is historically bad. Turner Ward was going to be a big improvement. I can't put much blame on him. These guys are professional and playing like little leaguers.

Irwin getting sent down was a joke. Manager sure don't matter.

Terrible would be an understatement. I do not think I have witnessed 3 straight shut outs. One thing that drove me nuts at the end of spring training was Irwin getting sent down. He was raking all spring. He’s better than kemp and Schebler at this point. Doesn’t make a lot of sense and it has to cause chemistry issues. Irwin played well at the end of last year as well. He has earned the right in my book. Scooter must mean more than we realize. Better keep him and Senzel to CF so we can score. Unfortunately that’s not till June and we will be 25 games back.

Yes, I’m with you on Ervin!! Guarantee you the Dodgers told the Reds they HAD to take Kemp to make the trade.

I will go with April 5, 2019.

You are out of the contest.

Bill Plasche LA Reporter said the Dodgers were jubilant to get rid of Puig and Kemp.

Have NO problem believing this!!

Some contest, no one else even played lol

You think his career is over?

Isn’t the success rate after surgery 90%?

I'm doubting that they envisioned their star prospect having Tommy John prior to throwing his first pitch in the majors.

My point is, Wouldn't we be better off drafting a more well-rounded prospect that could help the overall wellbeing of the ballclub NOW, rather than gamble on a kid that might end up a superstar, but that history says will end up on the DL list.

Leave the gambling to the teams who are already strong enough to endure a flame-out.

Maybe they can double up by playing for the Bengals!!!

I thought that pretty much all of the MLB draft was gambling.

See our superstar had ANOTHER good game last night, Mr. Votto, ANOTHER baserunning blunder in the first, cost Gray by not being on the front of the bag then another blunder on the bunt, how’s that old song go, “ Send in the clowns, they’re already here”, sounds appropriate for this team!!!

I am 100% in agreement with these points. The Reds are terrible at drafting and frankly just terrible at evaluating talent, much like their counterparts on the river. Give me a college kid all day every day over high school kids in the early rounds. They at least have a track record versus better competition.

Everyone knows that this team will eventually hit, but something needs to be done NOW to shake things up. Heck throw the 8 position guys names in a hat and pick them out for your lineup. If someone's ego gets bruised then I guess they are not about the team and can just take a seat and watch.
