AP All-Americans

Featured Replies

First Team:

Zion Williamson - Duke

Grant Williams - Tennessee

RJ Barrett - Duke

Ja Morant - Murray State

Cassius Winston - Michigan State

Second Team:

Rui Hachimura - Gozaga

Jarrett Culver - Texas Tech

Markus Howard - Marquette

Ethan Happ - Wisconsin

Carsen Edwards - Purdue

Third Team:

De'Andre Hunter - Virginia

Dedric Lawson - Kansas

Brandon Clarke - Gonzaga

PJ Washington - Kentucky

Kyle Guy - Virginia

I would go with Hachimura over Winston on the first team, but looks like a solid list to me.

First time a team has had multiple first team selections since Kentucky in 2010. Duke also had two in 2006. Interesting thing is that none of those three teams even made the Final Four. Duke was the last to do both, in 2001, when they won with Shane Battier and Jay Williams.

Remove the KY ties, is Ja Morant really a 1st Team All-American?

Is that the only reason? Murray State had an SOS of 190.

I watched him almost single-handedly shred 5-seed Marquette while dealing with a double team. That dude can play.

Get out of here. Ja Morant is the greatest college basketball player ever.

I saw enough Morant to know if he was on a "normal" team, he would have looked more impressive than he did. Not one game this season, against good competition, was he not easily the best player on the court.

I'm not debating whether he should be an All-American. Just 1st Team.

Nobody else is going to mention him so I will. Carsen Edwards was my favorite player in college basketball this season. There’s so much dog in that guy. Just fearless.

MKG wasn’t 1st team?

Third team. He wasn't a first team selection by any of the major organizations. Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Thomas Robinson, and Jared Sullinger were first team on the AP, USBWA, NABC, and TSN lists. Doug McDermott was on all but TSN, who selected Isaiah Canaan.

The undefeated team only got one on the AP first team as well, Willie Cauley-Stein. Karl-Anthony Towns was relegated to second team.
