That is in ever conference and you know it. You can site a few examples, as can a few teams in the SEC.

Make me a compelling case that someone "deserves" it more than UM.

 

If USC wins out they would have won their conference, and beaten a team playing in the Big 12 chapionship, the SEC championship, and ND. Michigan beat ND. There's my compelling argument. If Arkansas and Nebraska win their respective games they wiil have beaten 3 teams playing in BCS bowl games. Now you can give Michigan's argument. It consists of they beat ND at ND.

BTW, while I am on record as saying USC deserves the spot should they win out, I'm hoping that's a moot point after the ND game.

Honesty GT is mostly right in this case. Besides Ark, UT, and UK most of the other schools in the SEC like UF and Auburn dont go out and play anybody in the non conference. While OSU played Texas, UM played ND, USC played ND, ARK, Neb.., ND played UM and USC..etc. And that is why a team like Florida wont make the title game this year over UM, and why USC is the only team who has the shot to make it in over UM. Because those teams went out and played atleast one good outside of conference game...

Exactly. I am not disputing some teams go out and schedule good competition. But the ones listed are just about all that went out and scheduled tough games, it is not as if the SEC is the only group of 12 schools not scheduling difficult games.

That is true, and they might want to start thinking about adding another actually tough OOC game then, because FSU hasn't really been that great lately, and looks like it might be awhile before they are again..

And if you throw out Wisconsin because of schedule for UM, you have to do the same with Nebraska...

I doubt that. They barely beat UL Monroe. But I don't see why you're complaining, Kansas could beat all the Big 10 teams except for OSU and UM.

 

I don't know what you mean by eliminating Wisconsin and Nebraska, but I would imagine you're saying Neb played a cupcake schedule. Is that right? If that's the case, keep in mind, NU is the only team to play Texas and USC this year. You talk about how UM almost beat OSU. If I'm correct, OSU never trailed, at least not late. NU had Texas beat until the final few seconds. NU played 3 teams that were ranked when they played and UM only played 2. UM's 2 of the 3 OOC games that UM had were teams that UK beat pretty easily, and the other was Ball St, who almost beat them. Not a real brutal schedule there. Plus, the one "big" win that they actually had was against ND, who is the MOST overrated team ever.

 

Last week you said I was jealous about the whole '98 NU/UM title deal. Sounds to me like you're jealous about last year when the two teams actually did play, and NU won. But I guess you spent the next few weeks complaining how the officials should've thrown a flag cause NU was on the field on the final play.

Texas is a 2 loss team, so who cares about them? They played themselves out of the equation. The point was that Wisconsin didn't play anyone. And the flip side is that they did as much as Nebraska EXCEPT they didn't drop THREE games. If you want to discredit teams, you better be ready for the flip side of that argument...
