So I guess I can look forward to my post total going up now... No joke...Miami (OH)/UK is already approaching 5 pages. Just wait until UK plays UNC, UL, UF, etc.
November 16, 200619 yr I would offer one word of caution...the last time Tubby cleaned house like he did this summer the team started 6-3, including a horrible beating from U of L (if I'm not mistaken). That horrible beating was the last loss of the season until Bogans sprained his ankle and the world met Dwayne Wade... ...listen to Strike-3. That was just the first game. If we get into January and it's the same ol' same ol' then have at it...because believe me, I'll be right there with you. That was the season of Defense! I loved that team! That team bought into Tubbys system and it worked!No one on the planet could have stopped Dwayne Wade that game!
November 16, 200619 yr My opinion is that UK and UL are, have been, and always will be,,,,apples and oranges. It is also my opinion that if Pitino had stayed that UK would still be on par with Duke. It would have drawn interest from the best players every year, without exception. But that's just my humble take! I think UK is still on par with dUKe!

November 16, 200619 yr If he had stayed at UK, he would have won the Tubby championship, kept on recruiting as he did, NY kids, etc. and there would have been no lull in talent. All things equal, I'd choose UK if I were a recruit. What makes you think that? Pitino Couldn't win it the year before!
November 16, 200619 yr I see no improvements from last year's squad. Don't get me wrong - Stevenson had an impressive debut, Crawford appears that he might have a good season, and Morris played decent - but there is no flow, no tempo, and no intensity for the Cats. That is what makes a good team a great team and UK has not got it yet! I saw it at times but not near the amount it needs to be.

November 17, 200619 yr People on here talking about Pitino and Mcdonalds All Americans. My question is: How many did Pitino have in his tenure at UK compared with Tubby's tenure here? If I remember correctly Pitino recruited alot of "Projects" some of which turned out good and some that didn't. But when Tubby recruits one then everybody goes crazy saying he can't recruit the big name players.

I know I like the nickname pogo stick alot better, and besides that Pac Man is already taken by a guy in the NFL... Not sure why they were calling him that but I about lost it when the announcer made Pac Man noises one time "wa wa wa wa wa"
November 17, 200619 yr It's kind of like the stock market, I'm basing it on an 8-year trend. Where in the 8 year trend have we only scored 50 to 60 points every game? I know if that was true it would have been very hard for us to ever win anything in the SEC or be #1 seeds, or be double overtimes away from final four apparences. I dont know for sure but I dont think we have ever averaged anything less than 70 points at the least during Tubbys tenure...
