This is his 4th season and has the defense progressed? Who has he added to the team? Chad, TJ, Rudi was already here. On defense what players are contributors that he has brought?

I wish the defense was better and I expected it would be by now. But, two picks that were expected to produce (Pollack and Thurman) are not around. Setbacks happen. I still have confidence that Marvin will get it fixed if he gets to hang around long enough.

Marvin deserves some heat, but Mike Brown should be the one to blame. While he has drafted good over the past few years, the Bengals can't seem to any free agents.

Mike Brown deserves heat for creating the image of the Bengals but I thought that with Marvin as head coach and making the calls on personnel that he would be able to draw more of the top level defensive talent. I think he has failed on that regard.

 

Wasn't Delta O'Neal a trade BEFORE Marvin got here? I can't seem to recall.

Absolutely not but I don't think Marvin is so infallible as some view him.

 

Again, I give him a pass on Pollack (injury) but not on Odell. You pass on a kid with some incidents of poor judgement then why are you surprised if he does something that indicates poor judgement.

 

You draft a kid that shows a lack of character (Henry) why are you surprised that he doesn't make a play on the ball at the end of the last game and can't make the clutch catch because he short arms it in fear of getting hit on this game.

He is in charge of it as he is the Head Coach. I am sure that he has the ability to give input on the defensive plan and the coaching of the defense.

 

He is in charge, as head coach, of bringing in free agent defensive talent. He has not done that.
