All American LB at WKU, Ryle Head Coach, CovCath assistant coach, and now the head coach of Boone County.

 

And late 40s, successful realtor, and an all around great guy.

 

Not sure where he started as an assistant, but Bryson was named HC at Ryle by the late great Randy Cooper starting with the 2003 season at the age of 28. Head coach at Ryle for 11 seasons. 5 losing seasons and 6 winning seasons. 2 great years and 2 sorry years. 1 state runner-up and 1 state semifinal appearance. 73-58 overall as a HC. Charismatic and energetic - fun to be around. Prepared kids for life through mental and physical toughness. Fair and disciplined. The kind of coach you want your son to play for IMO.

 

Ok, that's who I was thinking of. Just didn't realize he'd been away from Ryle that long. Sounds good, best of luck to Coach Warner and the Rebels.

As a guy who hated getting his rear kicked back in the day by the Rebels, I'm happy for Boone County High School. It just doesn't seem right that they've been rather unsuccessful for a while.

Could not be happier for Boone County, its fans, its alums and, most importantly, its current players. It's always a little more special when one of your own comes back. Bryson is a program guy. He won't have the fanciest offense or the trendiest defense, but he will have those kids organized, committed and believing in themselves. Don't expect some miracle turnaround, but an eventual return to respectability with a great season every now and then is certainly doable. The days of Coach Hauck are long gone. As I have said a dozen times on here, Boone County schools are currently just to watered down for any one of the high schools to dominate every single year.

If he is in his late 40s then he didn’t play with Alexander. Alexander would of been a freshman or so. I believe the teams he played on were stellar nonetheless. I think they lost in the playoffs to St X on a field goal. Boone always appeared to go through cycles. They would push for a title for about two years and then be a little down for two years. Then they would push again for a title for two years. Before anyone gets worked up when I say down a Boone Co down year during that time is better than most schools up years.

Just saw on an earlier post he was hired at Ryle when he was 28 in 2003 and thought that would make him 43 if accurate. I think Shawn is 42/43 (class of '94); so, I concluded they would have played 2 or 3 years together.

Alexander is 42 I believe. He graduated in 95. Guru said he was in his late 40s so that’s what I was going off of.

I checked into it, it looks like Coach Warner is 44 years old.

Coach Warner graduated in 1992. That does not make him in his late 40’s it makes him closer to mid 40’s.

So Alexander was a freshman when Coach was a Sr.

 

I’m very interested to see how things go at Boone. Best of luck. I know a lot of eyes will be watching and people rooting for Boone Co.

Great Hire plenty of untapped talent that will respond well from Warner’s style of coaching!

Could be too early to say but the Raider / Rebel rivalry may become as intense as it once was!
