January 4, 20197 yr Not hate, as I don't watch any bowl games that don't interest me, including the "big ones." It just downplays the achievement of making a bowl game if there are 250 bowl games to attend, IMO. Agree totally. Kind of in the same mode as a trophy for every kid. Starting to lose all its' meaning.

You can schedule 5 cupcakes and have one good win and make some silly Bowl and people act like it matters. Ditto.
January 5, 20197 yr You still have to win 6 games though. I get your point that it takes away a bit of the allure of making a bowl game, but it doesn’t really bother me. Just out of curiosity (because I'm too tired right now to look it up myself), but how many teams would've been eliminated if 7 wins would have been required to be bowl eligible? It never made sense to me that by playing .500 ball, you were to be rewarded. You should at least having a winning record, IMO.

January 5, 20197 yr I also don't understand the hate...what does it matter, who does it hurt if there are X number of Bowl Games? To me it's just more football and a chance to watch teams play that would otherwise probably never meet. As stated earlier if you don't like it, don't watch. Why do any of you care if the bowl makes or loses money? If advertisers dry up then their will be a bowl retraction, but as long as it's viable to broadcast these games will all continue.
