They didn’t use first downs so it was play from 40 yd line everytime. All teams made some good plays. Gateway was the best in my opinion. St.X secondary gave up a few long pass TD’s which that is most inexperienced unit of team. Secondary did get a few interceptions though. Lots of kids rotated so good reps. I thought CAL looked good also.

Overall, I thought it looked good.

CAL 3 star RB/ S was snapper. New middle/ secondary on D improving. MUCH more speed than last year!!!

This senior class went undefeated as frosh because of their defense. Shut out Moeller and beat Trinity 14-7 in OT. JV record wasn’t great because several of them were back ups on Varsity. Junior class isn’t as strong and sophomore class is strong.

I like the freshman results. JV is the most unreliable indicator anyway.

Just to clarify, current senior class went undefeated as freshman and undefeated as sophomores on the JV team. As sophomores they benefited from several juniors playing down and beat Trinity twice. They beat Trinity as juniors last season at the varsity level so most of the current seniors are 4-0 against Trinity going into their senior year.

First day of full gear is this Thursday. Can’t jump right into full gear because of KHSAA rules.

Naturally, always anticipate the “coaches speak”. Just wondering if there was anyone standing out the first couple of weeks, what the buzz was like, stuff like that.

As an aside, I heard this morning there are about 80 freshmen out, some with good size. Trinity has about 45. Don't know anything about quality of teams.
