I remember in 1999 Somerset went to Bardstown and pulled the upset. Turned around the next week and went to Danville and pulled that upset. Seems like a very similar situation to me! I hope that Bethlehem can win this ballgame but I see Danville as the clear favorite due to experience in the playoffs and home field advantage.

'99 sorry to correct you. In 98 Danville went to the state Championship or 2A where Caldwell County beat them.

I know this is off topic but after seeing ads1982's avatar, I remember that playing at Danville is one of the most intimidating places to play. Bethlehem went there last year but it's still a rough place to play on the road.

I can see your point about the banners etc... But, it comes down to taking care of business when in between the lines. When the ball is snapped the player is not thinking about how many state championships this team has. I think Danville actually plays better on the road. When you go on the road it seems to put you in focus.

Let's just kick this thing off and see what happens!!!!!! Wonder how much the rain over the next 2 days will play a factor. Both teams like to run it, but Danville has the ability to throw it around too; much more balanced than Bethlehem.

Hard fought battle by both teams with Danville edging out the win....28-21.

As far as I know, everyone on the Eagles is healthy.

 

Only one person at a time can carry the ball. Billy Jackson showed last Friday night that he can make yards even when everybody in the stadium knows he will get the ball.

 

As with most football games, this game will come down to line play, and not the skill players. Will Bethlehem's tiny little lineman come off the ball like they did this past week? The Eagles have learned that 3-4 yards per play will win a football game . . .

In the regular season finale against Bardstown, Bethlehem came out in spread sets and tried to go downfield, and they suffered from some drops. They had a tipped ball against Bardstown last week that went for a 61 yd. TD.

 

If they are having to throw it, it should be safe to say the cause is lost.

One was a 2 touchdown win over Green at Green (Worst game Bethlehem played all year), the other was the 28-0 loss to Bardstown on the last week of the season. The field was very wet. Bethlehem is a much better team on dry field.
