Johnson Central 28 Ashland 21

Johnson Central showed they can win wtihout Grim. Grim did make the game winning throw to Tommy Taylor tonight. I was not wanting that game to go to overtime.

Johnson Central is 12-0 and playing in the regional championships game... both of those are firsts in the schools history.

I have no problem in what Dickey said. I think if JC does not step up their game he will be correct. Besides I think JC needs have a chip on their shoulder going into the Rock game.

Tough loss for the Tomcats, I was pulling for you all the way. Ashland has had a good season this year and have been better than a lot were saying they were. Also congrats to JC on the win, I hope that you can get Rockcastle Co. next week.

Congrats to Jim and Debbie, on their little boy. Did Matney have an stressful day or what????

They didn't exactly win without Grim. He did deliver the game winner to Taylor and had some good runs down the stretch. I don't think that any team will shutdown Grim without opening an opportunity for one of JC's other weapons. The Golden Eagles just need to keep executing when they go to Plan B or Plan C like they did tonight.

Let me explain what I meant. Grim didnt have any of his big, long, awesome runs like he has had in the prior games. He did deliver the game winning throw... which was AWESOME :ylsuper: by the way. But he wasnt the main offensive weapon. Thank God JC does have a plan B and a plan C.

The only thing better would be an audio clip of Rockcastle's announcer predicting a blowout win.:D

Seriously, I thank the Ashland station for webcasting the Tomcat games and Dickie for doing such a good job identifying both Ashland playmakers and its opponent's playmakers. Parents, grandparents, etc. who can't make it to the road games really appreciate their commitment to high school sports.:thumb:

(Why can't WSIP do the same for Johnson Central sports and webcast its games? :irked: )

I know what you meant, and I agree. I was just adding my 2 cents, not disputing yours.:thumb:

I think any JC opponent is going to have to give a lot up to hold Grim in check, so even when his numbers are down he is going to be a big factor in any JC win.

I have a great feeling that you'll not hear the Rockcastle County announcer saying that.

 One can always hope!

Great win for the 12-0 Golden Eagles. Probably better to go into the regional championship with a hard-fought win than another rout...it will have everyone sharper...

Good luck against Rockcastle...if "slobberknocker" ever applied to a matchup, this one is it...

Wow what a great game!!!!!!! I would just like to give credit to Ashlands coaching staff and players there coaches had a great game plan and there kids did exactly what they were told. Congrats to Ashland on a great season.

As for the Eagle so much for the teory that they are one dimensional and cant throw the ball as all Offensive TD were pass plays. They showed that they can come back when down late.

Congrats JC

and congrats to The Tomcats on there season.

No matter what anybody says... Johnson Central wanted this game more. It wasnt a pretty game, but they won. JC will be ready for Rockcastle County.

CONGRADULATIONS CENTRAL

First I want to say how proud I am of the Tomcats...I think they showed they came to play ball. IMO they were not beat by a better team but by their own mistakes and penalties, some questionable at best. How can you call a touchdown back when the ref has already signalled it was good? They proved that Grimm is indeed stoppable. And next for the wonderful PA system and announcer. The enjoyment of attending a high school football game is taken away at JC. The music, the snippets from songs are very annoying, even when you're winning. We come to these games to watch our kids play ball, talk with friends, etc. and you can not do this at JC. It is extremely annoying and obnoxious. It also is rude, everytime Ashland's band started to play, they were drown out by the PA system. There were also times when Ashland was snapping the ball and the music continued. Not a fun place to play ball!
