Well to that I say, Bama will not be able to keep up with Oklahoma's offense. Bama played no one, and I do mean no one with this type of offense all year. Saban hates two things, hurry up offenses and running QB's that also have a cannon for an arm.

Bama's weakest link is their secondary and Oklahoma has the best offensive line in the country and they give Murray more than enough time to find open receivers and if not he will take off. This will be the most dynamic QB Bama has seen all year which is why I am picking the Sooners in this one.

I said "huge blowout" earlier in this thread but I now am thinking that it could possibly be closer. One problem with Bama that's been consistent is that the only teams that have given them trouble are the teams with an athletic / mobile QB. That's certainly Oklahoma. Bama should score at will, early and often against the terrible Sooner D. I don't think that OU will win but they may score more than others that have faced Bama due to the QB. We'll see, I sill am going with the Tide and Saban with 3 + weeks to prepare.

My friend you haven't watched Bama football this season. The Georgia game is not the norm for this offense. Tua's health will be a major concern, but if is remotely healthy they will score fast and in bunches like they have done for most of this season.

Been watching Bama football extremely closely for the last 8 years and know them quite well. While they do score a lot of points the rate of speed that they score is nowhere near as fast as OU. I am hoping it is a shootout frankly because that bodes very well for OU. Again, the majority are going to roll with the Tide as they are the best team no doubt but I just feel in my gut this is going to be an upset and I do not see them as a 14 point favorite. We will all know come 12/29.

Let's see:

-Bama has given up 193 points this year. That's 14.8 per game.

-OU has given up 421 points. That's and average of 32.4 per game.

 

-Bama has scored 623 points for an average of 47.9 points per game.

-OU has scored 643 points for an average of 49.5 points per game.

 

Based on that I would think Bama will stop OU more times than OU will stop Bama.

Bama puts up points faster than pretty much everyone in the country other than Oklahoma. The difference is they’ll stop Oklahoma at least a couple of times. Oklahoma has shown no indication they’re capable of stopping Bama.

First Defense to get 3 stops will probably win the game.

If Tua isn't healthy and I don't think he may be, Alabama will struggle to keep up. Their Defense will have to play above what most think is possible and slow down OU for them to have a chance.

I never understand the "give Coach X this much time to prepare" as if the other team is sitting around doing nothing take. Some Saban lead teams have had some duds in bowl games.

There you go. Additionally, I thought Bama looked horrible in the title game against Texas, whichever year that was. Luckily Colt McCoy got injured right at the start or they lose that one. The final score makes it look convincing, but that was a three point game late in the fourth. OU in the Sugar Bowl was another bad loss.
