Limbaugh takes a shot ...

Featured Replies

at the ousted Republican members of Congress.

I can't currently post the link, but on the Drudge Report, there is an article that quotes Limbaugh as saying "I no longer have to carry the water for people that don't deserve it."

As Jim Schue would say - Thoughts?

I no longer have to carry the water for people .......

That's because he uses the water to pop pills. Speaking of people who don't deserve it........ Rush needs to rush away....................

Even W took a bit of a shot when he stated that he was certain that the War in Iraq was a major issue, but in some of the races, the people made choices because they wanted honesty and integrity by their congressmen, in so many words.

Does this mean he's going to stop "carrying the water" for the President?

Bush is the reason the GOP got trounced. Maybe he would realize that if he untied the half of his brain that is behind his back.

If he doesn't want to carry the water for those who don't deserve it, I guess he's out of a job. That's all he's done for the last two decades.

In all honesty, the GOP members of Congress left Bush hanging on some reform measures.

There is a definite split between Reagan/Rockefeller republicans.

I understand where Rush is coming from.

There are a lot of Republicans who were in office that were not your real conservatives. Ones against entitlements, spending, more government and so forth. These types of Republicans would be your so called Rockefeller Republicans, or the ones like Gerald Ford. Rush is a Reagan Republican...and he does point out that in the polls voters said by an 11% margin that Republicans were the party of big government. How is that fathomable? You see such things as No Child Left Behind and so forth which leadsd people to believe this.

There is this split in the GOP, the social/pro.govt republicans and your enterprisers. hence your Rockefellers and Reagan Republicans.

Here is a great site where you can see some views and characteristics of the various groups on the party line.

There is a concern amongst Conservatives that Bush will ride out the last 2 years looking to improve his standing in the public...minimum wage, immigration and so forth.

If there were a lot of Republicans in Congress who weren't true fiscal conservatives (there were and probably still are), it was Bush who enabled their non-conservative ways. With veto power, he could have brought them in line in relatively short order if he had wanted to. He never made a serious effort to reign in the spending of the Republican Congress as earmarks and pork flowed freely year after year.

I just wish that Rush and others had started beating up on the Republicans 2 years ago. Then maybe they wouldn't have gotten the spanking they got yesterday.

The ONLY way Limbaugh would have badmouthed a Republican two years ago is if he thought it would get him another quarter of a point in ratings.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rush was secretly happy about the GOP losing both houses. If you recall, Rush was at the height of popularity starting in the early 90's, and lasting pretty much throughout Clinton's presidency. I'd say he's pulling for the Dems in 08 also. He has much more ammunition in his arsenal when he is perceived to be on the outside looking in.

Exactly, if Rush wasn't such a freaking mouthpiece for the do-no-wrong Bush administration, maybe the GOP wouldn't have gotten its rear end handed to it Tuesday. He takes some pretty undefensible stands to avoid breaking with the White House and, quite frankly, it destroys his credibility.

I wonder if Rush snorted a few opiates after watching the returns roll in on Tuesday..

Limbaugh lampoons Republican John McCain on a regular basis and has done so for years. Limbaugh has consistently spoken out against McCain and his campaign finance bill. Limbaugh came out against No Child Left behind. Limbaugh was against the Harriet Meiers nomination. Limbaugh was against the Bush I tax increases. Limbaugh was against Bush's prescription drug bill. I suppose you could claim that he took all those stands strictly to improve his ratings but a more plausible explanation is the one already given by LABS. Limbaugh is a Reagan Republican.
